fdomig (1055) - München, GERMANY - JUN 17, 2017
500ml on tap at the brewpub. Aroma is oats and light malt. Appearance is dark golden with a small white foam. Taste is bitter and light sweet. Dry. Ok.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is wood, some bready malts, mild toffee as well as some grains and mild floral notes. Flavour is floral, wooden, some bready and sweet crisp malts as well as some slight grainy notes.

Half-liter bottle from the brewery. Virtually no carbonation in an amber-colored beer poured into a Steinkrug. No bubbles. Rather aromatic: biscuit, herbs, dark honey. Tangy, dusty bitter, with mild caramel streak and then rolling through a lasting bitter aftertaste. Not sure why the bottle is flat, but it tastes more interesting than most bottled Kellerbiers. Still not as lively and tasty as the stuff from the Anstich at the mouth of the cellar, at the Schmausenkeller. Special place with a massive playground. Bring the tots.

From gravity barrel at Schmausenkeller in Reundorf. Moderately hazy golden yellow with a short but fine white head and slowly cascading carbonation. Aroma is moderately yeasty / doughy, sulfuric and hoppy in the nose with notes of flowers and apricot and lemon. Quiet malt is toasty and cracker-y with faint sugar cookie notes. Medium body and enjoyably rich, light to moderately sweet, sticky and lasting mouth feel with moderate to strong finishing bitterness for its size. Fresh and lively, just a tad doughy and soapy in the same way as the Lieberth / Rittmayer Haus Kellerbier, but remains lip-smacking and succulent and the fruity-floral hop expression is nice.

Trübes orangegelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, getreidig, blumig. Geschmack malzig, leicht fruchtig, grasig.

Bottle looks a bit old but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Fruity-sweet aroma. Starts intense hoppy, spicy, grasy, strange notes of sorrel and some herbs. Finish more balanced. Still those interesting sorrel notes. I like it!

Idiosynkrasie (8318) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - DEC 6, 2013
500ml bottle. Hazy orangey golden colour with gigantic, foamy, faily lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Muggy, grainy, aroma creates a cowshed atmosphere with adjacent long drop. Taste is dry, grainy, spicy strawy with a cautious tart touch, salty. Somehow extreme, unintelligible, quite strange.

Shaney (2423) - Köln / Cologne, GERMANY - MAY 31, 2013
Ekelhaft!

Ernest (7912) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is a strong note of butter/diacetyl, light note of lemon juice. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, very unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Whooooooaaaaaaa. FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT FOR THE DIACETYL EXPRESS!!! Holy crap. This is THE most diacetyl-ridden beer I have ever had in my entire life. The aroma is NOTHING but butter...no hops, no toasty malt, nothing. Absolutely insane. Just like a big glass of artificial movie theater "butter" (sans popcorn). Sour and gag-inducingly dirty in the mouth. Un-freaking-believable. How the hell was this considered ok to bottle and sell???

(bottle) pours a clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of grain, floral hops and lavender, slightly buttery, with a hint of caramel. flavour is mostly barnyard, rotten peaches and grain, quite metallic, with a heavily bitter herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.
