craftbeersweden (707) - SWEDEN - MAY 9, 2016
ABV: 7.0% Best before: August 21, 2013.

Way back in my beercellar I found this Doppelbock...

The beer pours, clear, very dark mahugny colored with a huge, three finger high, white head. Just a little lacing on the glass.

Nose: Caramel malt, dried fruit, plum, whipped cream, bread and dark syrup.

Taste: Sweet caramel, fudge, nuts, bread, dried fruit and a little bit of smoked ham.

Mouth: Medium body. Light and soft carbonation - maby because its three years after "best before"? Sweet ending.

I want my doppelbock thick, rich and powerful - this is not...

Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20150106]

Bottle. Light amber, small and fully diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, caramel and light fruitiness, faint hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, caramel and light fruitiness. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light bread with light alcohol. Quite uninteresting and one-dimensional, lacks character.

lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 15, 2014
330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a small white head. Aroma of toasted malts, syrup and some nuttiness. Flavour of bread, strong syrupy sweetness, nuts and some earth. Medium bodied. Very sweet and not enough malts.

Flasche 33cl. Bayrischer Doppelbock in Drittelliterflasche in Grünglas? Mehrere Tabus werden hier gebrochen, geschmacklich aber solide Tradition. Würzig, Lakritz, süffig. Trockenfrüchte.

Beerhunter111 (22947) - P´Castle, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2014
Dunkel kastanienbraunes Bier mit ordenlticher beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch nur leicht röstmalzig, wenig Karamell, leicht alkoholisch, sehr arm an Aromen. Geschmack mild röstmalzig, leicht schokoladig, Karamell, minimal alkoholisch.

MarkoNm (2966) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - SEP 13, 2014
Pours a dark brown color, clear, with an average beige head. Malty aroma and quite some amount of grainy notes. Tiny presence of roasty aroma. The taste is sweet, hardly any roasty presence, but it has that dark lager feel. Not the best one, to be fair.

Svesse (8821) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 12, 2013
(Bottle) Dark brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, caramel, a touch of chocolate and brown sugar. Malty, roasted taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, raisins, brown sugar, dark bread and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and fairly well balanced doppelbock, but possibly not the most interesting in the style. Quite enjoyable.

Miksu (5052) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - AUG 13, 2013
0.33 l bottle at Timo A’s. Dark amber color. Sweet raisiny, honeyish, bready and caramelly aroma and flavor with dark bread and raisiny caramel. Medium to full body. OK albeit a bit sharp dobbelbock.
