COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A copper-colored beer born from the fermentation of 5 specialty malts, such as Munich and Crystal, amongst others. The Cascade hops adequatly balance out the beers caramel notes on top of giving it a light acidity, followed by a balanced dose of bitterness.

Bottle (341 ml) at home. Clear amber with a medium white head, decent retention, leaving little lacing. Flavors of caramel mostly alongside unfermented grains, grass and rather strong vegetal notes. Taste is rather sweet but also moderately acidic. Medium body. Somewhat fizzy carbonation. Rotten fruits and caramel finish. This pretty much taste like a first homebrew batch. Im kind of surprised that this beer has been on the market for so long.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2012 Bouteille 341 ml. 5%. Couleur ambre, mousse beige ple. Bonne. Surprenante.

Originally rated January 2006. Bought at the Dpanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Pours a golden-amber colour with a nice creamy off-white head. Retention is so-and-so and lacing is good all around. Its aromas are of hop and caramel malt. Thin mouthfeel. The flavours are mild, with some floral and light fruitness, and slight hop in the aftertaste. Good potential here, but too light and smooth. If you want the real thing, try Ruddles County Ale.

Not much to recommend in this beer. Tastes a lot like a macro amber ale like Rickards Red or Boreale Rouse. Drinkable but nothing more.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt base with unrefined grain is more or less pleasant. Taste is also dominating dry unrefined grain notes with some lingering sweetness. Body is slightly below average with OK carbonation. Nothing here is really likely to make me want to buy this again.
