(draught can) Black. Smooth light brown head. Smokey inviting aroma. Mothfeel and flavor not the best though, has a woody palate with not so much flavor.

Very creamy, delicious stout. More smokey then Guinness, but quite honestly, both are very good, IMHO.

Draught can. Head is initially small, creamy, light brown, fully lasting. Body is black (but not opaque). Aroma is lightly malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, caramel). Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Definitely will re-rate when I can find this in bottle form, as nitrogen has rendered this nearly soulless.

Can't believe I never rated this before. I llove this stuff and to find it out in the backwoods of western Mass. was a pleasant surprise. I like the smoothness that oozes through you as you drink down a pint. You still get all the coffee and dark chocolate notes you'd expect, just in a smoother package.

A disappointment if you like Guiness. Certainly smoother but it lacks the distinctive sourness. Promises more than it delivers

Has a very dark brown color and a roasted smell. Taste is watery/roasted and finishes with almost a smoked flavor. Overall I did not like this beer due to the smoked flavor.

This was so boring. I like stouts, but this is down on the bottom of the pile with Guinness (a bit below actually). I really couldn't gather a lot of flavor from the beer. It tasted a bit thin and the mouthfeel felt a bit thin as well. It's quite sad, actually.

Very creamy, almost chocolaty flavor. Great head -- gives you a good mustache. I've had it on tap and from the nitro can and don't mind either. Strong flavor that doesn't overwhelm like most stouts.

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2003 Thin on aroma, and any lasting taste. No matter how I pour it, it's always art, however, a lighter chocolaty brown floats up as it settles. Maybe too creamy for me?

I had this in the Nitro-can. It pours out a dark reddish-brown color, with lots of cascading foam for a head. Settles down to a nice layer of foam. Aromas of black malt, chocolate malt, expresso. Tastes like an expresso stout to me, as the coffee notes are strong in this beer. Kind of thin on the palate, smoother than a Guinness. Not as biting as Guinness either. Rounded, smoother flavor to it. Well balanced by the hops. A good stout, in my book. Worth trying at least once.
