Bottle from Wine Emporium 230914. Super big foam head takes forever to settle. Boozy is an understatement. Definitely a beer to sip. hawthorne00 (4236) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2016 [8/13] Tap at the Park Hotel. Lovely clear brown with a beige head. Far too cold even though I avoided the frosty glass. Much more enjoyable after it sat for 20 minutes. Aroma of light dough, stewed and dried fruit - prunes, raisins - brown sugar, mace. Full bodied but not at all syrupy. Really quite hot and very boozy. Sweet, faintly rummy. Explosive fruity flavours. Dries out a fair bit at the end. Punchy spices - aniseed, pepper, nutmeg. Lots going for it but the alcohol is way too prominent for me. I suppose this was always going to be a bumpy ride. [8 4 7 2 = 3.5]Muggus69 (2831) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - SEP 23, 2016
[8/16] Bottle that didn’t explode at all. Clear dark brown with a beige head that sticks around as a coat. Somewhat shy aroma of raisins, spices, dark sugars, light dough, spices - coriander seed, mace, licorice, some ginger. Medium to full bodied. Fairly sweet with more dried fruit than bread or dark sugars. Bitterness is discreet but creeps up to handle the sweetness. A gentle array of spices. Alcohol is actually pretty well hidden, but the "explosive" fruit flavours (which I recall as akin to Rochefort 10 albeit with a blast of booze) are concomitantly less so. Getting there. [3.7]
330mL bottle from Booze Bud. BB 04.05.18
Deep bronze body with dense beige head.
Rich aroma - dark toffee, brown/candi sugar, cakey sort of malt, touch of chocolate & nut, with dark vinous plummy esters, prunes & spice.
Very thick palate, not afraid to show its weight, sweetness, richness, smooth, creamy, slightly boozy but certainly not OTT.
Immense sweet dark candi sugar character upfront, provides its own earthy sort of beetroot undertone, amongst touches of black plum, prune, blackberry, chocolate, nuts, black pepper & dried leafy herb. Long finish some warmth, very delicious.

Bottle - pours dark reddish brown with a thin lacy tan head. Aroma is caramel, dried fruit, bit of sugar and rummy. Taste is sweet up front developing into a sticky date sweet and caramely dry finish. Creamy palate. DeliriumT (545) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 12, 2016
Raisins, dates, maple syrup and dates on the nose. Very smooth palate. Very sweet beer, but the sweetness works.

Not the greatest beer from Murray’s, just too much booze! Good flavours initially though. wrlangin (230) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 10, 2016
330 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours dark Amber with very small head. Very mild aroma, slightly sweet. Taste is smooth - malt, slight spice, subtle sweetness. Overall, good but nothing really stands out.
