Pours a clear, very bubbly, reddish-brown with a large lasting foamy off-white head. Mild aroma of caramel malt and a hint of roastiness. Watery flavour of caramel malt, nuts and a mild finish of roastiness and hops. Thin bodied with an almost creamy mouthfeel. AleRider78 (1114) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 15, 2015
Has a dark brown appearance, with a big frothy light brown head, like brown sugar. Good lacing. In the taste, some roasted malts and coffee flavours. Rich and full bodied aromas are same as flavour. some barley, spices are apparent. Not too bad. jdobbs (411) - New Brunswick, CANADA - SEP 4, 2014

Poured a dark amber colour with a good head and ok lacing. The taste is nuts, chocolate, and toasted grains. A little thin in the long run. MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 16, 2014
Reviewing from notes based on the Muskoka variety pack I got a while ago. Pours a dark brown with a fizzy tan head that didn’t stay long to visit at all. Taste of malts, chocolates, nuts, etc. Ales aren’t really my thing but this one wasn’t bad at all!

Dark brown with a minuscule head size. Relatively stunted roast/chocolate scent. Although the taste presents little novelty, it’s a nice refreshing roast/chocolate brown. Smooth and creamy, with a lack of hop. nalanos (1) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 15, 2014 does not count
A pleasant aroma of comforting malt bread and a hint of licorice, this dark brown ale is what it a dark brown should be on appearance. Frothy, but not overly soft . Medium bitterness, body and carbonation, It reminds me slightly of creasote which I think is akin to the burnt caramel slightly smoky flavour - it matches its Ontario cottage country credentials, a feature that I personally find appealing in this beer. neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2014
12 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a shaker. Pours deep chestnut with a small tan head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves trivial lace. The nose has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of coffee. The flavour is dryish with roasted malt, molasses, earth and hops. The finish is medium in length and roasty, with caramel. On the palate it is medium in body with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a decent brown ale but not terribly complex. 2014-01-12 cards04 (2793) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - DEC 28, 2013
A solid ale. Aromas of coffee and a bit of sour. Flavors are coffee, dark chocolate, and sour cherry. Nice. jksipa (943) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 29, 2013
Bottle from the Beer Store. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a minimal beige head that leaves nice lace. Nose is chocolate and roasted nuts. There is some bitterness that keeps this from being too sweet. Mouth is medium with average carbonation. Slight metallic taste in the finish.
