When Andrew Petrou was just 16 he had a dream; he wanted to revive Fix, the national beer of Greece, his father's homeland. Seven years later, he did just that. Fix beer with its distinctive blue and white label is now available at selected licensed premises in the Toronto area. Soon, the full flavoured lager with just a hint of the Aegean sea will be avilable where ever good beer is sold.

Bottle from The Beer Store (Scarborough)
Deep gold with light hints of amber, smallish white top.
Dusty cardboard, creamy diacetyl aroma with faint grassy hop notes. (Please note that this beer was fresh)
Oily, creamy with grape like aftertaste. Malt work was shallow that shows signs of presence at very finish. Poor work, expected cleaner lager. Quality control issues? Fix beer its ironic name indeed .

Originally rated July 2006. Pours a rich golden colour with slight amber in it. The head was average size, white colour, average retention and left minimal lace. Carbonation is only coming from 2-3 spots at the bottom of the glass. Grainy malt nose with a tad of hop. Creamy and sticky mouthfeel. The taste is a mix of grass and grains. Quite different, but nothing outstanding.

341mL from a lone sixer at my local BS. Pours a typical but nice shining gold, small white head that reduces to a surface film. Aroma is mostly just sweet indistinct malts, with some hints of decent hops, almost Noble like. The flavour is quite nice, muted grainy sweetness, but with a nice dry hoppy finish and bite, maybe a tad Saaz-like. There’s a hint of something in it that I can’t quite put my finger on, that is quite nice. On a hot day, as the cliche goes, this hits the spot, but I’m more impressed by the quality of it for a near buck-a-beer. The hops really steal the show, being kind of a Noble-Saaz mix up that doesn’t actually conflict. A case of being very decent for what it is. Lighten up people, sheesh.

341 ml bottle from the beer store. rating the 2nd of the six pack in a fix session. ive tried to get this brew from the beer store everytime ive gone there for the past year and today was the first time they have had it in stock. very fresh sixer, botted 3 weeks ago. pours pure golden with a tight white head and minimal carbonation. aromas of grainy pale lager malts and minerals. not much of a aroma. flavours are pretty bland with pale lager malts being the only thing worth noting. some hops are needed in this brew but other then that its an enjoyable pale lager for the summer.

341ml Bottle, 5% a/v Pours honey gold colour, with a white head slightly tinged gold. The nose is of malts mainly and a hint at some grassy and slight caramel notes. The taste is somewhat malty with a nice clean finish. Not a spectacular beer, but certainly nothing wrong with it. Ill be getting this again, for the price you cant go wrong!

Pick this up alongside Muskoka Premium, both are value priced and pretty good. This one pours deep golden (good for a pale lager), with minimal head and traces of lacing. Very similar taste and aroma to Muskoka,. Nonetheless with these two beers in the "buck-a-beer" category, these are no brainers.

Tessic (1252) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 30, 2006
This lager poured alight yellow colour with a white rocky head. First to the nose was scents of creamy malt and a little caramel. Grassy nots to the nose also. First taste was malty with a round flavour, somewhat sweet. Not too bad. The palate was a little hoppy with a almost thick mouthfeel to it.

Pour a glass of this alongside a glass of Muskoka premium lager. Taste both. Same beer?!?
