UPDATED: OCT 29, 2012 Pours copper aroma of hops. First sip is sweet and oppy but not overly bitter. Aftertaste is astringent. Great beer.

Pours clear and slightly darker than amber or light caramel with very frothy head. Aroma is mild from the pour. Taste blends sweet hops with sharp acidity

Pours a dark amber colour with a big thick creamy head. The aroma starts strong alc. then a soapy fruit hop aroma. The flavour is caramel sweet and citrus with a light hoppy herb body is thick on the palate and a nice bitterness from the dry hopping.

Great fresh hop aroma. Pours brown with a slight orange tinge and a thick lacing offwhite head. Very round and smooth mouthfeel, very boozy though. A little thin in the body as well. It’s pretty nice, with a lasting malt aftertaste despite being quite dry. I think it needs to be aged, and would consider buying it again for a warm autumn day, but it’s not my absolute favourite.

Golden copper colored pour with light tan frothy head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Taste of caramel, citrus, orange peel and bitter hop finish. Perfect carbonation and nice smooth mouthfeel. Quality beer all round.

Beautiful amber colour. RIght off the bat, hit the fruity scent of fresh hops. Sweet passionfruit and caramel notes at the front, with a heavy, but not overpowering bitterness at the end.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2013 Pours clear copper with a frothy off white head. The aroma is of caramel, sweet malt, and fresh, slightly funky hops. The taste is crisp citrus and spice up front, with a strong hop finish. Nice medium body and well balanced all around. RE-RATE 2013/09/22: On cask at the Wooly. Pours clear copper with a rocky, light tan head. The aroma is of caramel malt, fresh hops, clove and cinnamon, and light esters - perfect for fall. The lower carbonation and higher temp benefits this beer - I get more complex malt flavour, balancing out a firm but not extreme, American hop finish.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2012 750 mL Bottle. Pours a copper body with a nice white head that settles to a tenacious film leaving generous lace. Intense aroma of sweet malts, resiny hops and a hint of toffee. The flavor is definitely full bodied; intense with loads of sweet malt and crystal malt, intense resiny and peppery "grapefruit rind" hops tapering to a toffee finish. An excellent sipping beer that represents the time of year it’s suited for.

750 mL bottle. Pours a very attractive copper brown, a fine white head with minimal lacing. Aromas of malt, pine and toffee sweetness. The flavour profile lines right up with the aromas, a wallop of toasty malt sweetness, caramel and butterscotch, followed by a good bite of bittering hops, citrus and lanolin notes with a smooth finish. Medium full on the palate with decent carbonation and a lingering finish. Drank this one a little warm by accident, and rather happy I did, really rounds it out nicely. A textbook APA, and another great offering from Muskoka breweries.
