COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

Sweet and spicy aroma with caramel and citrus and much pine. Clear orange amber under a white cover. Caramel malt with some resinous pine and faint citrus. Medium body, moderate carbonation, faintly bitter finish.

Sampled at the Great Canadian Beer Festival. Basically, Mad Tom on PEDs. Potent and delicious (with an asterisk).

Strangebrewer (1309) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 7, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2017 bottle/can. Poured hazy medium amber with a creamy off-white head. Strong herbal hop aroma. Full bodied, creamy carbonation, thick mouthfeel, tart dry finish. Big grapefruit hop flavour, pithy with caramel notes, a little woody with an astringent finish.

Light amber pour with white head. Aroma is rich toffee malt with candied grapefruit. Flavour has lots of sweetness and caramel malt with good, bitter hop balance. Tastes quite fresh with a lingering bitter pine finish.

Fresh out of bottle, nice head with good hoppy aroma. Good palate and after taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355ml bottle aggressively poured produces a semi-transparent dark golden colour with a one and a half finger off-white head that sticks tothe glass but thins to a film.Aroma is slightly fruity with notes of citrus, bread, and flowers.Taste is bitter with notes of bread and alcohol on the aftertaste.Medium to full body. Medium, bubbly, carbonation with a slight syrup feel in the mouth.Overall nice. You definitely notice the alcohol but that adds to the flavour.

tomghiley (21) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 25, 2013
Much better than the original mad tom IPA. Twice as mad has a much more mellow flavour despite its much higher alcohol content. It is rich in bitterness and very smooth, with a very nice dark colour.

Masterkush7 (580) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 21, 2013
A very enjoyable double ipa. There is a nice bitter hop punch from start to finish that dominates this brew. Masks the high abv well all though some alcohol taste is noticeable but pleasant. Definatly will enjoy again.

Drank from bottle. Couldn't get much on the aroma unfortunately. Taste is hoppy, strong, slightly malty. Good. Still prefer the Mad Tom over the Twice As. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
