While the legend of Mad Tom is laden with mystery and intrigue, one thing remains clear: Mad Tom did things his own way. Twice as Mad Tom is an aggressively twice-dry-hopped Imperial India Pale Ale, that delivers a definitive hop aroma & unabashedly big bold flavour. We brew this beer with the road less traveled in mind, and in the spirit of old Mad Tom...we make no bones about it.

Bottle. Beer pours copper with a light head. Aroma is resin and a touch citrus from the strong american hops. Aroma comes off much stronger than the original mad tom. Taste is bitter throughout, with a heavy hop flavour upfront. Flavour starts more resinous, and the after taste turns orange zest and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is oily, like your mouth is being coated by the alpha acid oils. Good beer for hopheads, quite tasty.

My taste has been skewed by the sake I took earlier. Although this one's reputation was somewhat reassuring.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2017 I'm not tasting what everyone else is discussing. for a DIPA, I was expecting a heavier beverage as opposed to the light flavor. Not bad, but definitely not a top tier IPA.

Absolutely phenomenal! Beautiful hazy straw color. Perfect hop and malt balance. Very clean tasting and slightly refreshing for a double ipa.

16-ounce can from LCBO in Toronto pours hazy yellow-gold with trace white head and lacing. Aroma: faint citrus, honey. Flavor: pineapple, mango, grapefruit, honeysuckle, sweet pine. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied. Much better than the regular Mad Tom, which is far too sweet.

AfTer trying mad Tom who could resist trying twice as mad Tom. It did not disappoint. More of everything I liked.

Orangey yellow pour. Has a strong pine aroma. Taste is very juicy and hoppy. More pine notes again. Lingering bitter finish. Very nice

473ml can, best before 2017-07-01. Pour golden, lightly hazy with a white foam that reduce as a ring. Aroma is resinous, peach and ethanol. Taste is malty, bitter and alcohol. No green hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. Bitter, oily and dry. Long malty and bitter finish.

Pours very bold and bright, hazy gold orange, soft and sticky lacing. Aroma is juicy, dank, malty - orange, grapefruit, caramel, damp leaves - very faint compost note here. Taste is lovely - fruit juice, pine, toast, woody hop bitterness, big bitter hop finish that isn’t offputting. I always liked this one in the past, but I must’ve caught it on the right day for my review, cuz I’m loving this at the moment. Well above the regular Mad Tom, a very good beer in its own right.

BrewWhatIWant (323) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2017
Pours a slightly hazy amber with a white head that thins and leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus and sweet malts. Taste is sweet with a fairly mild bitterness. There are notes of bitter orange rind, sweet marmalade, and pungent pine in an excellent balance. The beer has a very light mouthfeel despite what seems like a full body. Much better than the lesser mad Tom if a bit excessive in its hops.
