3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear amber with a full off-white foam.
Aroma: Rich crunchy malts, a touch of burnt sugar, big pine/resin hops, fairly fruity, caramel/toffee, some citrus, really nice.
Palate: Medium+ body, slick, fine but fairly full effervescence.
Flav.: Very solid caramel/toffee maltiness, a bit of burnt sugar, big juicy pine/fruity hops, really nice; dry with good bitterness, minimal alcohol (dangerous) and a long, malty, hoppy finish.
Might not be twice as good as the original, but close.
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2017 I'm not tasting what everyone else is discussing. for a DIPA, I was expecting a heavier beverage as opposed to the light flavor. Not bad, but definitely not a top tier IPA. ipa4me4u (33) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 6, 2017
Absolutely phenomenal! Beautiful hazy straw color. Perfect hop and malt balance. Very clean tasting and slightly refreshing for a double ipa. Scrumpy369 (943) - Budapest, HUNGARY - AUG 7, 2017

16-ounce can from LCBO in Toronto pours hazy yellow-gold with trace white head and lacing. Aroma: faint citrus, honey. Flavor: pineapple, mango, grapefruit, honeysuckle, sweet pine. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied. Much better than the regular Mad Tom, which is far too sweet. sawyerpc15 (166) - Bowser, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 6, 2017
AfTer trying mad Tom who could resist trying twice as mad Tom. It did not disappoint. More of everything I liked.

473ml can, best before 2017-07-01. Pour golden, lightly hazy with a white foam that reduce as a ring. Aroma is resinous, peach and ethanol. Taste is malty, bitter and alcohol. No green hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. Bitter, oily and dry. Long malty and bitter finish. googleimage83 (170) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 23, 2017
Pours very bold and bright, hazy gold orange, soft and sticky lacing. Aroma is juicy, dank, malty - orange, grapefruit, caramel, damp leaves - very faint compost note here. Taste is lovely - fruit juice, pine, toast, woody hop bitterness, big bitter hop finish that isn’t offputting.
I always liked this one in the past, but I must’ve caught it on the right day for my review, cuz I’m loving this at the moment. Well above the regular Mad Tom, a very good beer in its own right. BrewWhatIWant (294) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2017
Pours a slightly hazy amber with a white head that thins and leaves some lacing. Aroma is citrus and sweet malts. Taste is sweet with a fairly mild bitterness. There are notes of bitter orange rind, sweet marmalade, and pungent pine in an excellent balance. The beer has a very light mouthfeel despite what seems like a full body. Much better than the lesser mad Tom if a bit excessive in its hops. mikkopen (1193) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 24, 2017
473 ml bottle. Hazy yellow colour, thick white head. Citrus-fruity, malty aroma with caramel and pine notes. The flavour is malty, with sweetish tangerine and notes of peaches, and a lingering bitter finish of resiny and floral hops. Good stuff.
