Cotteridge Convention III – May 2017 - Bottle share at Cotts under the marquee in the torrential rain. Big thanks to Dave for bringing this. As ’Muskoka Winter Beard Double Chocolate Cranberry Stout’, 8%. Black with a red hue, foamy light brown head. Aroma is cola and toffee, white chocolate, a bit papery. Body is light, tingly carbonation, frothy. Taste is papery, woody and spicy, some white chocolate. A little on the thin side for the ABV I thought. (6-4-6-3-13=3.2)

Pours opaque black with a tight, 1-finger tan head. Lots of bubbling along the glass. Deep aroma of chocolate with just a touch of cranberry. Body is medium-to-full with a touch of oil. Finish is long, but mild. Flavor of chocolate that is lightened by a touch of tart cranberry. A touch of a burnt note at the back.

Cotteridge tasting #3 on 20th May 2017. Cheers Dave (WingmanWillis) for this offering. Near black body, tanned topping. Chocolate nose with a cranberry twist, taste the same with a vanilla smoothness. Loads going on in this brew, liked it.

Scopey (15753) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 30, 2017
Bottle at Cotteridge Convention 2017. It pours near black with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich, sweet, cookie dough, cranberry, fruit cake and chocolate brownie. The taste is mellow, bitter - sweet, chocolate, chewy malt, liquorice, cookie dough, red berry and a hint of alcohol. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps lacks a touch of depth, but it is well-rounded and rather drinkable.
