COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter Weiss (Vice) was developed over a warm cabin fire, filling the void for a flavorful yet sessionable brew to enjoy during a long Winters night. This Dunkelweizen is deep brown with notes of clove and banana. Muskoka Winter Weiss partners the yeast and wheat character of a Hefeweizen with the malty richness of a Munich Dunkel. The result, a brew to enjoy all Winter long. Seasonally brewed and available in limited quantity, the perfect beer for Winter celebrations with friends. Cheers to Winter! - See more at: http://www.muskokabrewery.com/winter-weiss.php#sthash.wdSSNVj2.dpuf

Pours semi-opaque nut brown, with some red to it. 3-finger bone-colored head. Aroma of banana esters mixed with a touch of clove. Body is on the lighter side of medium. A touch of oil, and a mild astringency to the finish. Nutty flavor with a note of banana at the back. Light clove note too.

(Rating #7682)

Deep hazy and cloudy, dark brown color with an orange hue, and lots of activity. Extra foamy, slightly frothy, light brown 4 finger island head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with light legs, but good lace. Flavors of banana yeast, dark grains, apricot, wheat, toffee, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate, coffee, floral spices. Cereal bitterness, burnt caramel, roasted and slightly dry. Slick and smooth full body with crispy carbonation. Medium strength finish, bready roasted malts, soft clove, with leafy and grassy hops. Dark but still fresh from German style yeast, but with some diacetyl in the smell. Really well intensified and accessible. Some pretty good flavors, it’s delicate, probably a tad too faint but I still enjoy it. Although the finish is quite pleasant, with a filling body. Not too festive, just a touch, could drink this all year long. Overall very good quality craft.

Can. Clear dark amber body, small beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma of wheat, banana, coriander, yeast, dusty herbs, peppercorn and rye. Taste of toffee, banana bread, herbs liquor, cloves and pepper. Very nice.

can. Poured clear deep auburn with a quick tan head. Slightly tart aroma, a bit home-brewish. Medium bodied, crisp carbonation, lingering finish. Toasted malts, tart citrusy flavour with spicy notes, banana peel and belgian yeast.

473 ml can. Slightly hazy dark brown colour, beige head. Sweetish malty aroma with yeast and notes of banana and spices. The flavour is malty, toasted, with fruity and banana notes, and a mildly bitter toasted finish. OK, but nothing special.

A very very good representation of the style. Was surprised. Spicy, rye character. Complex. Banana bread taste, with a bit of pepper and finishes very dry. Nose is caramel plus banana and cloves. Appearance is clear brown with orange highlights and minimal head and retention and lacing.

Boutip (6533) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 26, 2016
Can: Poured a lightly hazy light brown color Dunkel with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light banana ester with some sweet caramelized malt notes. Taste is a nice mix of caramelized wheat malt with some light residual sugar notes with some subtle notes of banana bread. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed but maybe lacking some of the complex and subtle flavours notes from the staples of the style.

Pretty good dunkweizen. Clove and banana in the aroma and taste. Notes of chocolate in there as well

This was smokey, which I wasn’t prepared for. Overall drinkable, but would’ve preferred it without the smoke.
