Found an old note. Pours copper, bit of foam. Aroma has slight sourness, citrus hops, sweet caramel backbone. Tastes thick and sturdy, citrus hops and caramel sweetness. Sort of reminds me a robust British IPA. 6,5% abv is also perhaps a bit too much for a Pale Ale to stomach, so yep, malty British IPA sounds somewhat closer. Overall, bit too sweet and heavy for me, was hoping for something else.

Cornix (202) - - AUG 20, 2017
Bottle, batch 30. Pours dark amber, huge white head. Aroma is sweet and sourish, malts, caramel, yeast. Flavor is sweet, raisins, some fruits, pine, medium bitter aftertaste. Decent.

Juks (1301) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 19, 2017
330ml bottle as ’Kõpu tuletorni õlu’, batch 29. Impossible to pour, foam just growing and growing. Some hazy brown liquid in bottom of glass. Sweet bready, malty aroma, some pharmacy. Taste of mildly roasted malts, toffee. Dry herbal bitterness in finish. Massively overcarbonated. Infected? Needs rerate.

A bit maltier than the average for the style (which is however still overly on the dry side, w/notable use of American hops--not sure if it’s an EPA), with some slightly estery fruity notes, but it’s overall far too unidimensionally unenjoyable for this rater (even if it’s made in the same subdistrict of the same district of the same city in which I live) (11.2 oz bottle, Kristiine Keskus

jookos (7227) - FINLAND - JUL 28, 2016
