Saddlebag Series No. 1.
Brandy’s Imperial Sundae is a hand-crafted Imperial Porter with rich, dark, malty flavors that combine with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and a mild finish of American Oak. The beer starts sweet and smooth, but at 9.1% Alcohol by Volume and 40 IBU’s, packs a wallop when you least expect it… just like Brandy herself.

bottle shared by derek, thanks! pours near black w mahogany edges and a brown head that dissipates to the edge. nose is loads of vanilla and syrup but literally smells like you are smelling a bottle of vanilla extract. taste is that same powerful vanilla note but with more chocolate bitter malts to cut the sweetness and even a very faint touch of fruit finish to round out the full ’sundae’ effect. very tasty and well executed.

(Draught) Pours a murky brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of vanilla, nougat, cherry, and chocolate. Flavor of cherry, vanilla, roasted malt, chocolate, subtle wood, nuts, and toffee.

Ratman197 (15632) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - DEC 29, 2014
Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan herad. Aromas of roasted malt, earthiness, light oak, light bakers cocoa and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roasted malt, earthiness, bakers cocoa, light oak and a hint of vanilla with a smooth dry lingering roasty earthy finish.

edgallow (4634) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and wood. Taste of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and vanilla.

Nothing to write home about but a little above average. The mouthfeel is a little too watery for the attempted flavor profile.

umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - MAR 13, 2014
Bomber thanks to soonerchamps. Pours opaque dark brown with a small bubbly head that fades to a very thin ring. Odd mixture in the aroma but I like it. Sweet toffee candy, vanilla, chocolate, raisins, amaretto, and wood. Taste seems more like a dark belgian beer than an imperial porter. Dark fruit, raisins, dark bread, toffee, vanilla, and wood. Very light hints of cocoa. Carbonation is light and fizzy. Not sure how to rate this since it’s definitely not a porter and tastes nothing like sundae. Decent beer but they should consider renaming this.

MartzMimic (91) - Oklahoma, USA - JAN 16, 2014
Pours a very dark brown. Creamy tan smooth head that lingers. Aroma of malt, bread and raisin. Initial taste is malt, dark fruit and vanilla, but the chocolate, coffee and alcohol really comes through as it warms a bit. Only a slight bitterness. Medium mouth. I came to like this more and more with every sip. A quality porter where everything comes together well.

22oz served in a snifter. A - Pours a very dark brown with 1.5 fingers of mocha head that dissipates pretty quick. A few specks of lacing are left on the glass. S - Very rich aromas of vanilla and caramel malt, chocolate cake, oak wood, raisin bread, coconut, amaretto, roasted coffee beans, raw brown sugar, woody scotch alcohol. T - Some acidic fruit upfront but then it transforms into layers of vanilla, caramel and chocolate malt, wrapped in oak wood. Prunes and sweet raisin bread with notes of amaretto and coffee. Has a soft woody finish with a bitter chocolate aftertaste. M - Medium body with low carbonation, silky feel. Very nice porter here. Very layered flavors that really hit the spot on a cold day like today. Serving type: bottle 10-06-2012

Bottle thanks to soonerchamps. Pours very dark brown with fizzy tan head. Nose and taste of cream soda, fresh vanilla, vanilla extract, nutmeg, oak, dark malt, sweet chocolate and syrup. Body a little light for an imperial. Vanilla is a bit dominant.

deyholla (12590) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Bottle. Pours a murky brown with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla supported by chocolate and just a hint of sweet dark malts. Flavor starts with sweet with vanilla and is joined by chocolate with some strawberry that comes out in the finish.
