Imperial Court Stout is a hand-crafted Russian Imperial Stout infused with a heavy dose of luscious raspberries. This rich, dark, malty beer has a fresh, fruity flavor that combines with and compliments the dark chocolate notes that carry through to the finish-like mixing raspberries and chocolate malt in a glass.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a cloudy brown with medium beige had that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roast, raspberries, nutty malt. Thin mouth, light roast, chocolate but an overpowering cough syrup flavor, no.

Big black pour with khaki head. Raspberries hit you in nose and taste. Pretty medicinal and artificial. Also lots of ash, cocoa, coffee. Appropriate heavy mouthfeel. okay stuff.

4/16/14. 22oz bottle (I think, possibly 750mL) thanks to Brent during a VORLAUF meeting. Black pour with a nice enough tan head. Big raspberry aroma, a touch artificial, like candy almost, hints of char, chocolate, and soy sauce. Plenty of raspberry in the flavor, sweet again, reminds of candy, with touches of dark chocolate, coffee, mild acidity, and lingering ashy soy sauce. Could be worse.

At GABF. Black with tan head. Fruity aroma of syrup and raspberries. Light chocolate flavor and more syrupy fruit. Sweet finish is off balance. Medium body. Needs some work.

Bomber. Pours black with little head. Nose is huge raspberries. Taste is really bitter, and tart. I dont get the stout part of this. OK for a taster.

Deep black body with lasting tan head. Nice raspberry chocolate, vanilla, dark roast aromas. medium body, average carbonation. Nice lightly sweet raspberry chocolate flavors with medium roast maltage---simple but well executed fruit stout--very tasty

22oz bottle served in a snifter. A - Pitch black body, 2 fingers of frothy mocha head with nice retention and lots of lacing. S - Licorice, artificial cherry/raspberry syrup, roasted malts, cocoa powder, toasted bread crust, caramel, earthy grassy hops. T - Cherry and raspberry fruit bring a sweet but tart tangyness. A cherry cola like sweetness. The malt provides a mild earthy roast, caramel, toasted bread crust, with bakers chocolate growing heavier towards the finish. Some grassy hops are the mix as well. Finishes roasty and tart with a cocoa powder aftertaste. M - Medium chewy body with adequate carbonation. Not sure what to think about this one. I find myself liking the fruity tartness and then disliking it on the next sip as it somewhat reminds me of cherry cough syrup. I wish the base beer was a little bolder to support the raspberries better. Serving type: bottle 02-09-2013
