Bottle. Brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, dried fruits, roasted, caramel, malt. Flavour is sweet, dried fruits, roasted caramel, hop, malt. A decent OK beer. yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 9, 2009
Bottle. It pours a clear brown body with a ruby hue, topped by a small beige head. Roasted malts, dried fruits and a sugary touch in the aroma. The flavor is quite sugary sweet, with prunes, raisins, roasted malts and some bitterness. Medium to full body, almost sticky. Drier in the finish with some bitterness. A quite decent beer, somehow mixing an English brown ale and a sweet Belgian ale. (081206) chriso (7536) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 2, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2010 On tap at Mylius Erichsen, Ringkobing, May 2008. Mid brown colour. Rather intrusive carbonation. Otherwise rather like a malty British bitter. Some fruity notes. Moderately bitter finish. (6/3/6/2/10 = 2.7)
50cl bottle, as Anker Fjord Hospice at 5.6%, purchased from some shop in Hvide Sande, tasted on 3 January 2010. Should have known that the chances of me sniffing out a beer that the Danes hadn’t tried were very slim. Better than the Brown Ale Danmarkshavn I had sampled before , so not so bad to discover it was an alias. Reddish chestnut colour. Good condition. Chocolate, aniseed and caramel aroma. Licorice comes through on the palate. Also some sharp fruit. Not bad at all. (7/3/6/3/13 = 3.2)
