For those with very discernable palettes, many different undertones can be conceived, from citrus and blackberries to bold malty goodness.
A subdued aroma of fruit and chocolate, pours a dark black color without much head. A taste of berries and plums with a hint of chocolate, lighter body slightly watery with a bit of lemongrass like bite in the finish. HourGlass13 (909) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 17, 2016
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2017 Pours up nearly black with a thin tan head. Aroma is mild, some coffee grounds, not much else. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, and only a hint of dry lemon. Medium bodied. climberbob (458) - Virginia, USA - AUG 25, 2016
Can into glass in NC. Black w thin head. Lemongrass comes through in the aroma along w some woody notes. Similar taste and dry. Odd combination of lemongrass and stout and not sure if it works.

A dark brown stout with a thick brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with peated notes, light pepper corn, light lemony notes, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with peated notes, light chili, coffee grind, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. Bottle at OttBottShare April 2016. Pounder can from trio. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. The aroma has is primarily roasted malt but has a touch of cocoa. The taste has a smooth roasted character with a bit of dark chocolate and cocoa. Nice! Iphonephan (6989) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2014
From a 22 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of caramel. Flavors of licorice and tobcco. Cream body. Smooth finish. Lingering roast finish. nearbeer (5424) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 22, 2014
650 ml. bottle is sizzling with carbonation when cracked open. Pours opaque ebony with a humongous ice cream float-like head that finally settles to a small disc. Nose is mocha espresso with lemon and a hint of booze. Tastes of dark chocolate, citrus zest, vanilla and espresso. Medium body is smooth after the CO2 settles out, and has a nice balance. Nice idea, but the citrus notes are a bit much after a short while. braingarden (2) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 1, 2014 does not count
Poured from bomber. Outrageously carbonated and not very tasty. Had to let it sit for a bit to even out. Once I could get it in the glass, I tasted coffee, chicory, and faint lemongrass. Not as interesting as I had hoped.

Bottle at Salud. Almost a gusher, massive carbonaton. Clear maroon color, huge brown head. Aroma is roasty with light licorice. Taste explodes in your mouth like pop rocks, the carbonation is so high, whivh interferes with the otherwise roasty flavor.
