On draft at Trio in Kill Devill HIlls, NC. Pours black with a tan head. Light roasted malt nose. Flavors of leather and tobacco. Smooth, light roast finish. GTAEgeek (2411) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - MAR 27, 2015
Sample in a flight at the Craft Growler Shop. Black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is immediately bittersweet chocolate and coffee, with notes of molasses, and cinnamon. Medium body, sticky, and clingy. Overall, this is a pretty nice Irish stout, with minimal toasty bitterness. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 6, 2013
On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Thin pour, like iced coffee blended with chocolate milk. Wispy beige head, a cry for help. Grainy and mildly roasty nose, like faded ground bean and vague chocolate. Watery mouthfeel, not much happening there, and the flavors come across as a bit washed out. This style needs more body, and it’s fairly bland and one-dimensional. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - APR 7, 2013
Growler. Pours a near black color with almost zero head on it. Nose is quite dry with a lot of roasting coming through - smells almost like a chilled coffee. Taste has a lot of roasting in there as well, and is ever so slightly bitter. Decent taste, and a very interesting session stout. Happy session beer day! This sits in the glass a very dark brown nearly black with a decent tan head. Malt and coffee hit the nose as aroma. Its not as dry as I imagined it would be. Still dry for a stout though. Taste is definitely roasty malt and coffee. Non offensive and easy to drink.

From cask a Busy Bee in Raleigh.
Deep rich brown with light head the dissipated quickly.
Surprisingly mild taste. Strongest flavor is coffee. Nothing special, but nothing to sneeze at, either.

Cask. Black with thick brown head. Very coffee like. Not quite coffee grinds. But overall it's enjoyable as a one off.

Draft. Slightly oily looking black beer with a thin tan head. Nose hints at chocolate with lots of roasted malt. Nice clean roasted flavor with a sharp, short, bitter finish. Easy to drink, but plenty of flavor. Left me wanting another.
