COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Haacht White is an unfiltered, top-fermented, light wheat beer. It is brewed with barley malt, wheat malt and unmalted wheat. The beer gains its spicy aroma from the addition of coriander and orange zest. The top-fermentation process produces brief fruity notes. The sensation in he mouth is somewhat fuller than one would suspect from its density. This is caused by the presence of yeast cells and protein that together create a slight cloudiness.

Pours hazy light yellow with a thin, white head. The aroma contains wheat, citrus, orange peel and yeast. It tastes light sweet and medium sour. Watery texture, soft carbonation. Quenching but underwhelming.

Bottle, [email protected] Pours clear golden with a small, staying creamy white head. Aroma has wheat, soap, citrus, lemon. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite thin mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet wheat, sharpish citrus. Blah.

Bottle 33cl, a cloudy golden beer with huge head and good retention, nose is on wheat and malt, some lemon notes. Aroma is on the same, quite malty body, light agrumes, low body, very basic, soapy finish.

This one looks nice. It smelled like lemon and herbs. It tasted a little bit sweet. The palate was poor. Very watery and thin. There are better white beers

Nice rocky head. Aroma is yeasty dough, delicate lemon peel and soap. Soft water mouth feel. Taste is ...water with dough and some little drop of lemon. Nothing else to do here.

25cl bottle at Het Verdronken Land, Ghent (18 II 2016). Very faint yellow looking, almost hazy wheat beer with lovely white collar. Grains nose with typical white features. The taste isn’t really complex, with a little sour, a lingering bitterness, malted features, some long mint notes and freshness. The yeast adds to the malt sensation. The lack of fruit aromas, like a bit of lemon, could make this brew a dash better. I would love to experience more spiced sharpness too. This really is a modal, modest and unsurprising wheat ale.

Fles gekregen, uitgeschonken in Hoegaarden glas.
