Can in Shanghai. Pours respectably Average dark lager, a bit of coffee, some candy-like caramel. Not overwhelmingly sweet as others have noted- maybe they changed the recipe? No ruinous off-flavors. Rating with respect to the limited field of dark beers available east of the Emba river. When you are living in Shanghai longterm outside of the tourist quarters this is a gift, at least this is readily available and is not brewed from cornstarch like most of the 20 cent lagers. I had it as Blue Diamond Stout, a can from a store in Zhanjiang (Guangdong), with a bit of a different presentation, more like, well, the Blue Diamond Stout. At 13°, it is all the same. Same recipe, same maker. Two entries here. But it is all the same. And it is atrocious. This is worse than Sichuan buckwheat tea. I bought this beer at Beijing, before to come back to Switzerland. For a stout, it is not a good beer. When you smell it, it is find, nice aroma of coffee. When you drink, it is another song. Aromat kawy palonej i nuty kakao, to samo w smaku, wytrawne ale przebija lekka słodycz w tle, dobre piwo bo 13 (trzynastka) a chińskie piwa niestety wodniste. To zaskakuje pozytywnie.
