Lots of chocolate with some roasted sharpness, low carbonation and very low foam/head retention. A nice alternative to the industrial piss water lager beers in China. Cheap as chips too!
Can in Shanghai. Pours respectably Average dark lager, a bit of coffee, some candy-like caramel. Not overwhelmingly sweet as others have noted- maybe they changed the recipe? No ruinous off-flavors. Rating with respect to the limited field of dark beers available east of the Emba river. When you are living in Shanghai longterm outside of the tourist quarters this is a gift, at least this is readily available and is not brewed from cornstarch like most of the 20 cent lagers. I had it as Blue Diamond Stout, a can from a store in Zhanjiang (Guangdong), with a bit of a different presentation, more like, well, the Blue Diamond Stout. At 13°, it is all the same. Same recipe, same maker. Two entries here. But it is all the same. And it is atrocious. This is worse than Sichuan buckwheat tea. It is awfully sweet and cloying, tasting like a mix of pepsi cola and some flat beer. Very disappointing. thewerewombat (29) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - NOV 26, 2016
Unbelievably sweet. Tasted like chocolate mixed with coca cola mixed with stout. Not pleasant at all to drink, struggled to get through the can. zvsn (2224) - ISRAEL - AUG 21, 2016

Can sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Max. Dark brown. Aroma of iced coffee, mocha, toast, caramel, toffee, nuts, and a light vegetal note. Sweet flavor, quite sugary, with caramel, mocha, kinda artificial. Watery mouthfeel. caribou43 (1151) - Lausanne/Sevilla/Lima, SWITZERLAND - JUL 3, 2016
I bought this beer at Beijing, before to come back to Switzerland. For a stout, it is not a good beer. When you smell it, it is find, nice aroma of coffee. When you drink, it is another song. It is a kind of coffee, mixing with coca-cola with no hop and malt, a lot of sugar, unpleasant. Hermod (8213) - Vantaa, FINLAND - JUN 5, 2016
Pours dark brown with a thin white head.
Coffee beans in aroma, some roastedness. Thin, watery flavor, roastedness and mild coffee notes. Bland. Mister_Li (1528) - GERMANY - MAY 23, 2016
Klares dunkelbraun mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Reichlich Karamell, Vanille, etwas Kaffee, Röstaromen. Manslow (1807) - Warsaw, POLAND - FEB 3, 2016
Puszka 0,33l Giełda Warszawa 01.2016. Kolor ciemnobrązowy, klarowne, przebłyski rubinowe.Piana znikoma, lekkie ślady na szkle. Aromat kawy palonej i nuty kakao, to samo w smaku, wytrawne ale przebija lekka słodycz w tle, dobre piwo bo 13 (trzynastka) a chińskie piwa niestety wodniste. To zaskakuje pozytywnie.
