The aroma is of roast coffee beans. It is initially spicy at start but it settles down. There is a slice of licorice and chocolate but it gives way to a luxury mouthfeel that is creamy malt. Finishes bitter. Quality brew.

Tap at Petition - super sweet - slight brineyness - caramel roast malt flavours - a bit two dimensional for me - needs a bit more bitterness to balance it out. Andrus86 (679) - Busselton, WA, AUSTRALIA - AUG 22, 2016
TAP. Slick black pour with minimal caramel coloured head.. Dark berries/plum, dark malt, chocolate, booze & some woodiness on the nose.. Warm dark body, faint vanilla, molasses with a good dark chocolate bitter finish, more berry/boozy vibes with warmth.. Sourced Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough StevieT (2015) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 19, 2016
On tap at The Woolly Mammoth. Such a massive beer with so much going on, thick, rich and heavy on the bitter chocolate finish, the massive ABV is well hidden. A truely awesome beer. Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 31, 2015

Pours black in colour with a beige foam head leaving alittle lacing and aroma of roast malt, milk chocolate, coffee, nutty. Taste is roasted malt, dark fruits, liquorice, chocolate & coffee, raisins, boozy, grassy with some lingering bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, warm dry roast bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Black with a brown head. Aroma is liquorice, black currant, plum. Full bodied, lightly sticky mouthfeel, nice balance of freak fruit and gentle earthy bitterness. Taste is plum, golden syrup, dates, hint of black currant. ANZUShophunter (495) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 12, 2015
2012 bottle in a porter glass. Pours black with two-finger brown head that presents mocha and a bit of licorice on the nose. Taste is quite smooth with a nice chocolate liqueur sort of finish. Worth the wait. ladnewton (2002) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2015
Draught at Tippler’s Tap, Brisbane on 6th September 2015. Black with pale tan head and spot lacing. Coarse pickly aroma with Jalapeño pepper/corned beef/smoke seeming to disagree in the nose. Rough old coffee and sourness in-mouth with soy sauce notes. Aniseed, coffee and sharp black pepper in the finish. Light-bodied for its strength. Failed to live up to expectation at this time, happy to uprate should I have a fresh opportunity. Dervock (1407) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2015
Bottle - pours black with next to no head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, soy sauce, treacle and dried fruit. Nice dry rich roast malt taste. Great palate, whole mouth gets a coating. whoisghost (193) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 20, 2015
Deep black with a thin tan head, I put it down to the pour though. Dark chocolate and raisins on the nose, slight hint of leather amd Christmas fruit cake - not as rich as I’d expected but subtle complexity. So smooth for its ABV - spicey and malt combined, it’s blown me away. Rich in the mouth, velvet and so thick. This is amazing.
