Bottle pours opaque engine oil deep black with tan head.. Diminishing. Perhaps glassware... Aromas of sweet chocolate toasted and fruity malt character. Med full body, complex malt, sickly sweet almost, creamy oats mouthfeel, mocha, chocolate, cocoa, bitter coffee bean finishing up creamy but dry, lingering roasted malts.
UPDATED: DEC 4, 2017 330 ml bottle. Appears opaque black, with a moderate but transient head of sticky tan froth. Aromas are subdued, especially when cold, but there are roasted malts, chocolate and a little coffee. Taste is similar, sweet mixed with bitter in the finish, roasted dark malts, and chocolates mainly. Some carbonation sting, but smooth and medium bodied mouthfeel overall. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, roast malt, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate. Deep opaque black body, holds a creamy dark tan head.
Doesn’t give away much on the nose straight up - roasty, burnt toast sort of notes, black coffee.
Surprisingly medium bodied, drying roastiness, some smoothness/slickness from the oats but not much.
Palate reveals notes of chocolate, black coffee, licorice, browned cereals/oats/bread crust sort of thing happening. Dry finish, lingering roasty note, moderate-high bitterness.

Pint at Archive in Brisbane. Pours black with medium tan head. Very mild aroma. Taste is toasted malt with hints of chocolate and perhaps coffee. Well done basic sweet stout.

Draught at Hoo Ha bar, Southbank, Brisbane. Poured an opaque black with a ruby edge tint, 5mm of light tan foamy head that diminished slowly and laced OK. Carbonation low. Aroma subtly of light and slightly sweet malt. Taste very nice of sweet malt with strong roasted grain, hint of coffee, chocolate and possible smoke. Medium body, a bit thin for a stout.
