2011 Elysian GPBF #13, and later a pint at Naked City. Hazy light golden with white foam. Dusty pale malt, vegetal pumpkin meat, dry spice aromas. Medium bodied. Most tasty dusty, bready pale malt, dry spice, straw, light fruit, herbal flavors--a very good saison riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 16, 2011
Spicy tart yeasty nose. Some ester, some floral notes, pumpkin meat, intersting tartness. Pours light golden, thin non lasting head. The flavor is estery up front, lightly tart, pumpkin notes through the mid palate, and a lemony finish. Yeasty spice and estery sweetness. Interesting stuff. Hazy, tanned witbier-like appearance. Sour wheat nose, both tart and refreshing. Easy, breezy fall farmhousey quality resonates from my pumpkin-shaped snifter. Tart, wheaty body. Again it is farmhousey--however if there is any pumpkin in this beer, it is inscrutable. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - OCT 11, 2011
The Great Pumpkin Beer Festival 2011 – Elysian Brewing, Seattle, WA
Golden in color, hazy with a thin head. Lots of spice in the aroma. The flavor was dry with light sweet taste. This was the driest beer I have ever had. Very interesting and good Saison.
