2010-07-01. Very dark brown body, small beige head. Flavour is mild, lightly fruity but tangy, very mild, very light alcohol. Struggle to tease out much aroma, finally get some tangy fruit to emerge. 5+ Average plus palate. Shockingly bland for a dubbel. On tap at Naked City, Seattle

[3084-20100702] Tap. Not a lot in the aroma, a little grainy yeast. Slightly hazy, bright orange body with no head. Fruity apple hops flavour has fresh light bready dough yeast notes. Medium body. Fresh, good.

Nose is mostly banana, alcohol, some darker fruits. Pours dark brown/copper hued, soft head and lace. The flavor is also full of banana, like a banana flambee or whatever. Light roast, caramel, chocolate as well. Noticeable alcohol at times, sharp carbonation. Sweet and estery/phenolic.

On tap at Naked City... This pours a dark brown with a nice bubbly head, some red hues, blah blah blah, it is a nice looking beer. The aroma is spicy with lots of fruity yeast, some dark fruit, banana, sweetness in a nice undescribed kind of way. It smells malty, fruity, and good. Tastes spicy, lots of yeast esters, banana, clove, sugar sweetness, toffee, bananas flambay or whatever... it is spicy, sweet, yet drinkable and tasty... Bubbly carbonation leads to a vibrant spicy character... nice sweetness... good shit going on... I have heard that these dudes can brew tasty beers... I am not really a fan of Belgian Dubbels, but this was nice and I would drink it more than once...I’m a ticker...

Draft at Naked City. Pours a very dark walnut brown with little head. Non asseritive nose with touches of banana esters, raisin, caramelized sugar and units of phenol. Light medium feel with small even carbonation. Dark fruit, plum, raisins backed by banana esters and hints of pineapple. ABV is well hidden in the taste however.

brown sugar with some hoppy spruce elements. dark brown pour. Not overly flavorful, a touch too bitter perhaps.

Root beer colored with a light cream head. Enjoyable brown malt nose with easy roastiness and a touch of molasses. Rather bland body with a submerged undercurrent of feint roasted caramel. Light burnt caramel finish.
Earlier Rating: 1/17/2009 Total Score: 3.6
Rich chestnut brown with a diffuse head that thickens and climbs along the rim. Little detectable aroma of malt notes. Flavor is uncharacteristic of a dubbel and skirts the line between a sour brown. Woodsy, malty, and with a sour wood component throughout. Some uric acid notes. Crisp ping to it. Piquant and altogether palate pleasing. A darn tasty brew from this Seattle upstart brewpub.

Tulip glass @ Taphouse. I assume this is what I’m drinking, though it is called Duplicity. Slightly fruity/pruney taste. Malty base. Decent dubbel.

bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - OCT 29, 2009
Pours clear brown with a thin off-white head. Sweet taste of spice and brown sugar.
