GLBN IPA Challenge 2011, murky somewhat dirty copper pour. sweet fruity malts and medium hops fill aroma. Buttery caramel, toffee maltiness, light bitterness. OK riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 30, 2011
Lots of rye in the nose, spicy and grainy, fruity, light tropical notes, a little citrus. Pours amber, no head or lace. The flavor is spicy with rye up front, caramel, fruity sweetness, some residual sugars, light citrus, and juicy fruit hops. Maybe a little too sweet for my liking, a little under carbonated and flabby at times. Not as good as the original offering. Thanks mj for adding this so I can tick stuff. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 27, 2011
draft. chestnut brown body with red tinted edges. small, fast-dissipating tan head. crusty bran and bread crust nose with medium seed/rye spice and medium-heavy caramel. aroma hops seems mild and subdued, like the fruit and pine youd expect are smothered by the the rye and malt. medium-full
body with more chewiness than I prefer.
