Bronzed, flat body, ring of head. Spiced Belgian candi sugar nose with some buzzy esters. The body is rather flat, but has a good balance. Moderate toastyness and esters, subdued breadiness and yeast. A solid backbone Belgian pale grains. Some alcohol sugar hop flower on the finish. From taste alone, I would peg this as around 7% ABV, so to its testament, the alcohol strength is well contained within the grain body. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - MAR 11, 2012
Draft at ncbc. Pours a murky dark amber with scant tan bubbles. Big sweet candyish nose, showing strawberries and and a tingly spicy blast of yeast esters, darkly clovey. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toast, caramel, cloves, and strawberries on the mid palate. Long sweet berry clove finish. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - APR 10, 2011
Nose is spicy with moderate bubblegum, pepper, a hint of alcohol, and bready/light sweet pale malt notes. Pours golden, thin head, no lace. The flavor is dry and spicy initially with light malty sweetness on the mid palate in the for of pale sweetness, a touch of bread, note of pepper and light alcohol round out the finish. Rather clean, light yeast notes, mostly dry and spicy. Not over the top and pretty drinkable actually. Nice.
