4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Brouwers 2012 Big Wood fest. Colour...well...opaque! Nose...toasty, roasty, nutty and boozy. Palate...quite viscous with loads if roasted nuts, burnt sugar, cotton candy scalings, toffee, and an ever present bit of booze that’s actually more than a "bit", come to think of it! This one could sneak up on ya and kick yer ass if you’re not careful! A very nice treat and a beaut of an intro for me to Naked City beers!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Brouwer’s Café for Big Wood ’12, pours black with a medium foamy tan head. Aroma of oatmeal upfront, very light whiskey barrels and some chocolate. Flavour is rich and moderately complex with the perfect addition of whiskey barrel notes, loads of oats, some chocolates and very low roast. The whiskey well-accentuated the base beer. Excellent stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood 2012. Dark, sweet malts on the nose. Black pour. Slightly dilute compared to the others at the fest, but this is actually really good. It has a nice, balanced flavor, sweeter up front with lots of coffee on the back end.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2012 This is a Re-Rate as i needed to try this brew after it was barrel aged. Thank you Brandon. Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head. Big Bourbon aroma and flavor. Nice dark malt backing with some lingering chocolate and coffee flavors. Nice dry bourbon sweet finish this was a very tasty Impy Stout with the right amount of Bourbon.
