COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Biere de Miel is bottle conditioned and contains only water, barley and wheat, honey, hops and yeast. It has a marvelously delicate scent of honey, balnaced by a dry palate, resulting in a beer that is both estery and refreshing.

Disclaimer: Both the normal and the organic (biologique) version.

33cl bottle. I have a hard time with this... minty spearmint gum / mint lifesavers crossing over into medicinal "Icy Hot" territory, and once that association is set it’s hard to get past. Malt is bready / lightly toasty, yeast is super phenolic, honey character minimal (for me), hops nearly nonexistent. Medium body, sweet and syrupy, sticky even. Honey-ish in the mouth, unlike the nose, but still minty and medicinal. Sorry folks, as much as I love Dupont, this one is beyond me.

18 April 2018. Bottle at Waterhuis aan de Bierkant, Ghent. Shared with Anke.
Pours cloudy yellow with a big, lasting, foamy, white head; lacing. The aroma contains honey, perfumed soap, yeast, straw, biscuit, fresh French apricot & peach jam, some caramel. It tastes medium honey-like sweet, bit dough-like, perfumey and flowery, and light spicy bitter. Peppery hop finish, a bit dry with retronasal honey. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. A very good honey ale.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2018 Aromat wyraźnie miodowy (wrzosowy ?), bardzo przyjemny, z nutka gumy balonowej. Barwa jasno złota, zamglona z ładną białą pianą. W smaku umiarkowana słodycz i znowu miód, ciastka, lekki alkohol. Goryczka niewielka. Pełnia średnia, umiarkowane wysycenie i kwiatowo- miodowy finisz.

Small bottle at home. Hazy light golden with white head. Light flowers, spicy yeast, quite herbal. There’s some rosemary and thyme, with soft honey, roses, violets. Sweet malts and again some white pepper and light cloves. Over medium sweet, just medium bitter and a hint of sourness. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The honey and bitter herbs clash a bit, it’s not bad but not my fave Dupont.

Bottled 0.75 L, BB 2015, i guess around 5 years old. Quite some pressure still, golden colored, tiny yeast particles floating around, nice head. Nose is Saison combined with honey, and some overaged Tripel notes. Yeasty flavor, quity dry, honey. Remarkably it doesn't really taste that aged. In finish the age does become clearly apparent though. Still, bonus points overall for holding up so nicely after all these years.

75 cl bottle. 16-12-2017. From Noel Cuvelier´s. In short: sweet honey beer. Pours quite hazy pale gold.greenish with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, some good lacing. Sweet honey nose, malty, herbal. Medium body, average to high carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is malt forward, honey touch, malty, little tart, overall sweet. Too sweet maybe.
