Typically sweet Heller Bock with fermentation problems. A core of goopy fruit cup and honey malt and orange juice hops is overwhelmed by laundry soap and metal off-notes. Flabby body, horribly sweet and then when the malt falls apart in the finish you’re left with bracing hop bitterness and astringent solvent. Clear amber, from bottle dated best by April 2014.

500 ml bottle. BB 30/6/17. Vielen Dank Timo A!
Clear golden color with a small white head. Sweetish malty aroma. Some alcohol presence. Grass too. The flavor is honey sweetness, sweet malt and some alcohol. Sweet but not a disaster. A bit boozy.

500ml bottle (Gambrinus Degustation, Tartu)
Wet paper and starch aroma, wet paper. Pale, tight small head. Sweetish, smooth palate. So eastern european strong lager, a bit papery. starchy. Where’s the 2L PET bottle? Finish is harsh and starchy. For tramps.

Fresh bottle purchased and consumed at the brewery in Dec. 2013: Burnished golden. Creamy ring surrounds broken foam. Dull and defective nose of DMS, chemicals, and circus peanuts. Cheesy and footy, as well, with a subtle note of toasted bread. Soft carbonation deposits foamy residue on the palate. Initially flabby and cloying with syrupy overripe peach flavors running rampant. Sloppy, woefully defined malt resembles wet paper and damp old hay and is further muddled by prominent DMS and a host of other foul notes like mildew, chemicals, bug spray. Fatiguingly sweet sugars are exacerbated by scratchy alcohol in the finish. Ugh! Very poor. So far I’m 0 for 3 with this brewery. Buyer beware.
