COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

For export relabeled as "Vieille Provision".

   AROMA 9/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 9/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 17/20
3fourths (9407) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 29, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2013 The appearance alone is worth ten thousand words. The soft, wit-like yellow cream colored body, blends almost seamlessly with a large-bubbled white head which sits both deep in the glass and high on top sticking out. After a few minutes it has collapsed in on itself, leaving a thick and patchy coating of white sea foam clinging to the side of the glass. Watching this beer and its head settle, grow and die is like watching art being created. The pungent horseblanket, wheat, lemon grass and sweet buttery vinegar scents are immaculate. Close to the finest scent I’ve ever found in a beer. Whenever I drink saison, especially one with a nose like this, I’m always anticipating that punch of acidic, funky, concentrated heaven that you get from really good gueuze. It’s a rather weird situation when the palate is expecting gueuze but it gets... cream, flowers and yogurt? Not that I’m disappointed, but rather surprised, and it helps draw the drinker in, to convince you that you need to pay special attention to the nuances of this beer. It has the sourness of sour cream, meaning it’s really not sour in the true sense of the word, but rather it’s a mellow lactic acid creaminess, again like yogurt. one of the premier beers in the world.

Pours golden yellow with a big white head. Aroma of citrus, hay, spices come to mind. Taste is slightly tart citrussy, fruity, peppery, spicy and hay. Bonedry crispy finish. Very refreshing and thirst squencing.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2018 Bottiglia 33 cL. Colore giallo carico, leggermente velata. Schiuma bianca, fine e persistente. Al naso arrivano subito profumi floreali, miele e pane, che lasciano poi spazio a leggere note agrumate (forse limone). In bocca è molto abboccata, dolce e speziata. Lievito importante. Buon corpo, non eccessivamente secca. Chiusura ancora pochissimo amara. Retrolfatto: luppoli erbacei e solo lievemente amara. Questa birra rappresenta il Belgio in tutta la sua tradizione brassicola.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2018 Poured at 46F/8C from a 330mL/11.2oz bottle into a Belgian tulip glass. Color is a hazy, golden orange. Head is thick and lasting, white with a faint orange brown tint and very nice lacing. Aromas of cut hay, freshly turned soil, and an overall pleasant, sweet barnyard ‘funk’. Taste is orange peel, cloves, honey, pie spices, with a slight sour finish. One of the best beers I’ve had.

beer is a hazy yellow, pours with white head that doesn't stick around for too long, very lively beer, is opaque when put to the light because of the amount of bubbles, nose is grassy with a slight bitterness, light body, lively on the tounge, floral on the way down with a bitterness. Very good beer one of the first belgians that I had when I was coming round to what beer should taste like.

Una saison molto beverina dalla carbonazione vivace. Sapore con note fruttate ed erbacee che lasciano un retrogusto molto piacevole. Da riprovare.
