Bomber from the Coop in Davis, CA. Dark coppery color with a frothy beige head. Aroma of light roast malt and maybe noble hop. About medium in body with mildly frothy carbonation. A little heavy on the malt roast - moving it a bit toward brown ale. Maybe some grassy hop. Something seems to touch the bitter sensors. Coats the tongue a bit. It is otherwise clean. It is dry. Not astringent. Not bitter. It seems very well made, and it’s not dull. DYCSoccer17 (3719) - Woodland, California, USA - OCT 25, 2008
22 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma is light, with a little caramel, nutty, maltiness present. Not much in the way of hops or anything else. Kind of boring and straight forward. Transparent amber body with a small light tan head. Scant lacing. Starts quite sweet...almost cidery, actually. Then it is followed by plenty of nice, chewy, roasted, burnt, nutty malt flavors in the middle. Almost a bit ashy, too. Has a lingering roastiness and a bit of smokiness. A bit on the thin side.
