COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Amber Ale uses seven malt varieties, and three unique selections of hops in order to achieve deep complex flavors. The taste starts slightly sweet and then progresses to a clean, dry finish.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2015 Smoky-malty with a touch of lime-citrus. Sweetish, with a medium body. Mildly bitter finish. Good hopping, no harshness. Understated, compares to an English brown ale. Pleasant and very drinkable, but nothing special.

12 oz. Lightly foggy amber-red with a loose spit and ring of foam that lasts. Aroma is dark cherry, citrus zest, toasted Brazil nut, toasted malt and dry cocoa. Tastes of toasted malt, cocoa, plum and praline. Finish has nice touches of tart blackberry and espresso that swing the pendulum back. Light-medium body is delicately balanced and has a slightly tingly, low-medium carbonation. Pleasantly surprised after several disappointments from this brewer.

Really not an amber style. Must be one of malts gave it almost a Trappist ale flavor. Not really what you expect for an amber ale. Definitely finishes dry. Really not what you expect from the style.

"well, of the 3 new Napa Smith brews, I liked the wheat the best, even though i usually like amber and pales better. another reviewer of this brewery said they are too "slick" and i could see where he’s coming from, especially with the pale...but this one was pretty slick too. fairly good and very drinkable, but left me wanting more complexity and a touch more flavor. couldn’t tell there was 7 malts and 4 hops. Not to be all negative, though. I liked it and would drink it again, but other ambers I’ve had for the same price are better, most recently Redpoint from Avery. Good, though...more malt than hops, even in the finish. With a little heavier hop presence i’d have rated it higher, cuz the malt use is nice, but like i said, it’s a little too simple and slick to be among my favorites."

Thin for an amber ale. Taste is basic caramel, nuts with citrus notes. Kinda on the sweet side , This brewery makes better products. Hopageddon by Napa smith is an imperial IPA worth trying if you like tons of hops. For Amber Ale would travel a bit further up the coast to several other great breweries in the region
