Fruity, hoppy aroma. Almost honey-like in taste. Thick and sirupy. Much better than The other Napa Smith I’ve tried. Very good dipa with nice balance that I want again.

Amber, clear color. White head. Smell of hops, a lot of honey, herbs, grass, tropical fruit, citrus and caramel. A nice taste of marmelade, orange, caramel, dried fruit, pine and malt.

Bottle (355 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear copper, medium off-white head. Bready and bisquity malt aroma, somewhat stale, some alcohol, some piney and perfumy hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. >Semi dry, medium bitterness, a tad acidic. A poor effort.

Strykzone and I shared this on Facebook Chat. Poured amber with a robust white head. Nose of citrus hops. Medium body. Flavor is tropical fruit and citrus. Very bitter finish with citrus and pine hops.. Big beer from start to finish. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Ar: marmalade, caramel, butterscotch, alcohol, deep, deep down in this maltageddon there is some hops, but they seem to have met their maker before they met the wort, still some grapefruit and resin. I would have pegged this for an English style barley wine. Still the aroma is not unpleasant. Ap: copper colour, medium off-white head. F: the maltageddon continues, butterscotch, caramel, marmalade, jam, dried fruits, extremely low bitterness for the style, the hops that met their maker early still manages to give a whisp of grapefruit, resin and pine, warming finish, bitterness does not last long to linger at all. P: medium body very low carbonation. T: either there is something wrong with my bottle or the brewer should be sued for false advertisement. This is not an IIPA it is a BW with a slightly different maltbase than usual.

maltdog (626) - New Mexico, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Bomber. Deep rusty amber, billowing parchment foam. Muted hop nose… honey-lemon cough drops, some tropical fruits, caramel and metallic smells. Sweet, chewy barleywinelike taste and texture pretty much bulldozes through the hops. Ends on a rough and plasticy bitter note. Thick, slick glycerine mouthfeel. Totally not what I expected... not especially hoppy at all, and those are smothered by sticky, sappy malt. If anything, it’s just a mediocre American barleywine.

Bottle - Amber in colour. Elderflower, grapefruit and toffee in the aroma. Bitter, hoppy and slightly metallic taste with lemon, grapefruit, tea and fudge detected.

Bottled a few years ago. Don’t remember being too WOW’d, but remember it being enjoyable, only not being able to pick up much of what they were speaking of on the bottle. Should try it again.

LoFi (1763) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle. Quick rating. Amber with off-white head. Caramel, pine and resin, citrus, tropical fruits, quite mild and drinkable. Finish has a pollen dryness. Not super hoppy or in your face bitter, but I enjoyed it.
