Bottle. Amber color with a medium head. Hazy with a lot of floaties. Aroma was malt and caramel, didn’t get much hops. Taste was caramel, slight floral, maybe a little funk. Must of been a old beer. ClassyBeagle (376) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2013
Poured into a Napa Smith pint glass at the Napa Smith Brewery. From notes, July 29, 2012. Thanks Karl!
A: Roasted malt, caramel sweetness, hints of dark fruit and pine.
A: Pours a hazy copper in color with a decent head and some lacing.
T: Follows the nose with roasted malt, caramel sweetness and a mild bitterness and a dry finish.
P: Medium body, smooth and decent carbonation.
O: Decent beer, very quaffable, but nothing I would go out of my way for. obguthr (6532) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Starfruit and honey nose with some oaky highlights. Murky amber, medium yellow head. Honey and oak flavor with grapefruit toward the back end, very woody. Medium body. Well balanced, but a little stale and oxidized. Not typical of the style, but tasty. I would get this again. Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - OCT 1, 2013
1 Oct 2013, bottle. orange/brown, murky. nose is yeasty bread and red fruit. med/thin body and mildly fizzy. yeasty raisin bread. maybe some toasty malt finish. meh. Dacrza (1008) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - AUG 29, 2013
DATE TASTED: August 22, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Victory Hop Devil nonick... OCCASION: last night of camp thoughts--a good eight weeks...APPEARANCE: handsome reddish-brown body supports a thick off-white head that laces reasonably well; subtle bubbles... AROMA: sweet caramel and cinnamon; hops are light and aromatic--suggestive of soft pine; malts lend a Scottish allure...PALATE: like a brown ale, beginning with a solid malty backbone; hops tickle the teeth, but the malt holds the trump in the profile...TASTE: significant warming aftertaste; medium-bodied, almost an IPA; the alcohol is palpable... OVERALL: an intriguing purchase that may not live up to its bomber status; rounded enough to be a thought on St. Patty’s day, but not powerful or substantial enough to demand attention on a non-holiday night; not much of a summer beer either; still, not without its merits or usefulness...

355 ml bottle, rated from backlog. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma sweet and malty with lots of caramel and citrus hop notes. Taste with caramel, citrus. Taste: caramel and citrus peel with medium bitterness. pkbites (964) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2013
Nose of caramel, soup bullion, and red goop. Head is creamy off white and dies before the pour is finished. Slightly cloudy muted red. Mouth feel is very watery. Flavor is barely detectable until the swallow. Then a slap of bitter hops hits you. Higher alcohol content is not noticeable. What the purpose of red beers are I know not. This screams mediocrity. 2.5 out of 5.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a clear amber body and a small off-white head. Sweetish malty caramel aroma with some faint citrusy hops. Medium body with very soft carbonation. Caramel and citrus peel in the flavor, some bitterness. Sweet finish. Decent, but a tad uninteresting, one in the crowd. 130807
