Hot diggity dog! This is one amazing ale and if the rest of their brew line-up is like this one, well then, Napa Smith might become quite a regular brew in my stock! This brew poured up a crystal-clear dark reddish-brown colored body with a nice creamy one-finger thick head with great retention and lacing. Aromas and flavors full of caramel, floral hops and sweet roasted malts. Medium-bodied, extra smooth and an easy drinker with a finish that is amazingly refreshing and slightly dry with a lingering aftertaste full of roasted nuts and caramel. Can’t wait to try more from their line! Definitely one that I’m going to pair up with some slow-grilled rib-eyes topped with melted bleu cheese crumbles!!
appearance: clear amber, soft near-white head, some lacing. aroma: general caramel malts, some toast, light grapefruit, slightly herbal. taste: as the aroma indicates. finish: slight minerality, a tiny bit toasty. notes: Not super impressed.

Totally whelming stuff ... to pack such little flavour into 7%+ ABV takes some doing !! phaleslu (10895) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 28, 2016
Draft at the brewery, served in a flight. Pours a clear gold with an off-white head that settles into a little cap while lacing the glass. Notes of sweet malts, florals, faint citrus, and soap. Light-bodied, with moderate soft carboantion and a malty, bitter, sweet mouthfeel. The regular Amber Ale works a bit better by focusing on a multi-dimensional malt profile. Draft - Sweet caramel and soap. Clear gold with a rich white head. Sweet caramel, light twig and a long finish.

On tap @ Napa Smith. Clear orange/amber colored beer and a white head. Lots of banana and fruity, peachy esters. Some bread, caramel, and grassy hops. There’s a strong toast, caramel, and vanilla note to the flavor. Light hop profile. Somewhat grassy and floral. Fine for this sort of beer, even if it’s probably flawed. mR_fr0g (13982) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2016

Flavour is composed of sweet nutty grains, little raw toffee, dried fruits, metalical finish. Palate is semi sweet, grainy. Moderate carbonation. Overly bitter. Draft at source. A mostly sweet caramel malt aroma with not much toasty malt character. Very clear pale red color. Small white head. Mostly caramel in the flavor with a light slickness on the tongue. Light butter, maybe.minimal hop expression. JulienHuxley (5979) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 1, 2016
