Bottle from the 2014 rainbow collaboration case via Cornelius. Gusher. Gold with bits. White foamy head. White wine and funky lemon nose. Sharp bubbles. Sweet honey woodiness and alcohol heat.Sticky orange funky vegetal, light spice. Oily and sticky finish. Quite different but enjoyable.

Bottle from the 2014 Rainbow launch, opens with a hiss and a funky fruity aroma. Pours a clear amber with a small head, more farmhouse funk plus hints of toffee and grapes. Quite gassy, but dry, warming and complex, with a little pepper and nutty honey, a little bread and orange, very faint sourness. Wonderful stuff!

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2015 Bottle at home in London - sourced from BeerMerchants way back when. The beer opens with a hiss and reveals itself to be a very slow gusher. The beer pours clear, glowing orange-gold, wildly effervescent, with a large, billowing white cream head. Lots of stewed citrus fruits in the nose, some melon, pale wood, peach, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with lots of gooey citrus fruits, honey, moderate boozy kick, some white grape, slight woody dryness. Medium to full bodied with immense, mouth-filling carbonation. Sticky sweet on the finish with touches of caramel, alcohol warmth, peach, orange. It definitely drinks like 9% beer. There are some interesting characteristics at play here, but little nuance or grace. Not bad.

330ml bottle @ the Siren Rainbow tasting, Jan 15. Pours murky orange with fizzy orangeade aroma. Nice fruity sherry influence with deep, varied accents from the 9% ABV.

Slight hazy golden color, medium head. Aroma is spicy, slight peppery, bit green hops, bit citrus, bit sweet. Bit sweet as well as dry in taste, soft bitterness.

Bottle, shared between three of us as we broached the 7 Rainbow brews (2014) in Shrewsbury on 26th Jan 2015. Misty golden pour with a good white head. Interesting mix here, I got all sorts of aromas and flavours from this beer, fruity, malty, woody and mini sourness with a spicy twist: do not forget to add a basic yeastiness to all the above. Interesting.

On tap at What’s Brewing. It’s a lightly hazy, orange colored beer with a dense, off-white head. The aroma has canned peaches, some wood barrel and white wine, Saison-ish grass, pale malts and pepper notes, with a light yeasty touch. It’s full-bodied and quite dry on the palate, lightly warming and with a nice carbonation level. The flavor is fruity and vinous, with some pale malts, yeast, grass and spiced notes. Lasting fruity finish. A bit much this one, but it’s a nice one anyway. 141101

Bottle at home, 30th January 15. Pours clear, small head, good lacing, the aroma is wooden barrel, some funk and sourness. The taste is sherry, lots of wood, the barrel comes though, don’t get the orange. Well carbonated, becomes a little sweet. It’s OK
