UPDATED: OCT 8, 2017 Very nice. Rich coconut oil and hazelnut latte with a strong shot of malt. Could drink a few of these!

Pours oily black opaque with dissipating foamy brown head. Aroma: gentlw roasted grain, malts, supported by cocoa & vanilla beans. Flavor: roasted grain, malts with notes of toffee, caramel, milk chocolate, coffee, supported by cocoa and vanilla beans. Unfortunately last two ingredients are not perfectly incorporated. However, body is full, texture smooth, carbonation medium.

33cl-fles van bij Bierhalle Deconinck te Vichte. U: Zwart met een bruine schuimkraag. G: Kokosnoot, geroosterd, vanille en koffie. S: Zoet met een lichte moutbitterheid. Chocolade, koffie en geroosterd. Kokos in de afdronk. Lichte alcoholwarmte. M: Volmondig, licht sticky en lichte carbonatie.

Butelka 0,33, pite w terminie. Zakupione w Browar 100 Mostów we Wrocławiu. Wygląd: piłem po zmroku, ale wyglądało na czarne, bez refleksów, piana skąpa, obecna tylko po nalaniu. Aromat: potężna dawka kokosa, likier malibu, wanilia, likier wiśniowy i dębina, ale po ogrzaniu. W smaku powtórzone aromaty, kokos nie dominuje tak bardzo, wanilia dzieli miejsce z kawą i palonością. Alkohol gryzie na finiszu. Piwo rozdarte między porterem bałtyckim a RISem. Ogólnie bardzo ciekawe, warto spróbować.

Imperial russian (??) stout brassé avec La Pirata, d’un niveau abv de 11 %, avec noix de coco (on s’en rend très vite compte) et vanille. La date de l’engin n’était pas repérable, mais après coup, cela ne me tracasse pas … Couleur noir aux reflets marrons, et à l’opacité très forte. Mousse brun moyen, en nappage à 1 mm. Arômes de noix de coco (ce n’est qu’un début …), malt grillé, fève, cake. 1ère bouche souple, avec malt torréfié, café, mais la noix de coco est largement (euphémisme) prédominante. Arrière-bouche totalement déséquilibrée. 2ème à la coco trop prédominante, comme dans un "bounty" (et même pire). Arrière-bouche déséquilibrée, masquée par les coco girls … 3ème qui n’en sort pas. Arrière-bouche qui ne peut se départir du coco (quel drôle de coco ..). Longueur où on "pressent" que la base est très bien (le vrai imperial stout), mais le déséquilibre est tel qu’elle n’a pas la parole … Jambes huileuses, longues. Levure fine, ligne correcte. Alcool bien, mais que peut-il faire dans cette galère ?? Finale fatigante. CONCLUSION : not my stuff !!! Réservé uniquement aux cocophiles et aux bountyvores … Il est inutile de préciser que cet imperial stout n’a rien de russe … . Une confirmation quand même : Willy était tout à fait borgne quand il a brassé celle-ci … Et ce qui est inadmissible bien sûr, c’est qu’il a sans doute gâché un très bel imperial stout (celui qui est dessous ..). 330ml bottle pours black with slow-forming tan head. Aromas of vanilla, coconut, marshmallow, cocoa and brown sugar. Tastes of dark cocoa, roasted malt, mocha coffee, vanilla and liquor. Has all the hallmarks of a dessert beer although the flavours still have an artificial nature. Long finish with medium espresso bitterness. The silky texture and big body help cement this as a standout imperial stout.

Bottle. I would have thought twice if it said "coconut" on the front label. Anyway. Pretty much black with a tan head that fades to a fat coat. Aroma of roast, mealy coconut, coffee. Smooth, not a whole lot bigger than medium bodied. Less dominated by coconit than the aroma and there’s some nice chocolate and vanilla as well as coffee, but overt alcohol is here and that’s what’s really putting the coconut back in the box and thinning out the body. It’s not really raw but it’s pretty hot. Quite bitter at the end. Flawed, still fun.

Maris (1573) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 17, 2017
From a 330ml bottle on 17/8/2017. Pours dark brow with a small to medium head. Has a quite a powerful aroma of coconut, vanilla and booze. Totally full on flavour wise. Again heaps of coconut and vanilla (as noted by Allovate, it tastes like a shot of Maibu has been added), with lots of chocolate and some light caramel. It ends with a roasty, highly medicinal bitterness which throws it out balance wise for mine. Very boozy, and the 11% is no real surprise at all (mind you, I’d probably guess it was even bigger). Fairly light bodied for an impy with lowish carbonation. With a bit more subtlety and few less rough edges, this might be very good. As it is, it’s a very interesting experiment, which doesn’t quite come off.
