330ml Bottle: Pours a hazy amber with no head at all. Big sherry aromas with little else. Interestingly the beer is not overly sweet, more like a medium cream sherry. Nice wooded notes, big molasses flavours with prune and raisins as well. Very complex and very enjoyable. Works well with a Durban curry!

Drank with Rik 23-05-17 while watching Brooklyn Nine Nine. Mostly alcohol taste. A bit thin, metally. Mostly the barrel. Not much of the original beer left, it seems.

(Bottle) Aroma: very wine-ish,hint of vanilla,berry-type fruits. Appearance:redish copper color, small yellowish head. Taste:very sweet flavour of red wine, caramel and fudge, nice tannic woody hints balance the hole flavour. Palate:full body, quite syrupy texture, hint of booz, low carbonation. Overall:Very smooth wine-ish brew with nice balance between malt sweetness and tart barrel notes.

Barley wine with a strong liquor aroma (sherry wine). Not bad flavor but unbalanced due to an excessive liquorous note. Intense taste and aftertaste

Draft. A hazy dark Amber Beer with a beige Head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, Port, grapes, Wood, and prunes. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, Wood, sine, and over for fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle. Clear deep amber with a good coat of beige head. Aroma of fruitcake with just little edge of recently decorated room. Lots of dried and macerated fruit, bread. Alcohol and other fumes are fairly prominent. Sticky but perhaps less body than expected - maybe it’s the paint thinner. The hints from aroma become more obvious upon a sip: as well as dried fruit and strong bread there’s quite prominent solvent notes. They mostly go after a time, consistent both with fumey things dissipating but also with knocking back a big glass of barleywine. It does dry out a bit and finish with firm but not excessive bitterness. Wood creeps up. Interesting but not convincing.
