Dark brown color, a bit of tan foam on the sides of the glass. Schnapps, fermented plums, dark malts. A bit tart, slightly smoked, caramelized plums, burnt sugar, light roasty bitterness on the finish. Medium body, low carbonation. Bottle with the Taps 1MK tasting crew, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken light tan head. The aroma is rich sweet roasty malt light fruit, alcohol vanilla. In short: spicy warming IStout.
Pours black, opaque, with almost no head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Licorice, cacao, roasty, dried fruits nose. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is some sweet, licorice, chocolate, some vanilla. warm palate sensation due to alcoholic pungent notes, maybe a not to overwhelming for 13º. More spicy hot notes , due to sake yeast i guess. Overall very good.
Bottle from La Vache Folle. Pitch black coloured with a thin beige head. Nose is roasted malts, cofffee, maybe a hint of sake yeast. Flavour is roasted malts and coffee, a slight sourness possibly from the sake yeast, maybe a hint of pine apple. Slightly alcoholic. Not bad.
