Butelka. Klasyczny RIS. Palony, torfowy (!?). W smaku pół wytrawny, ciało średnie. W aromacie jednak pustawo.

Taki siermiężny i pełnokrwisty Russian Imperial Stout. Uhh czarny, smoilsty, daje taką palonością, czekoladą, chmielem, dymem i jak ktoś wcześniej napisał solą. W smaku zero kompromisów - tony mocno palonej czekolady i gorzkiego kakao, w cholerę też nachmielony, bez zadnych niuansow, dosyc gęste. Szanuję też takie klasyczne podejścia, bo lepsze są często od triple barrel vanilla & srilla ice aged. Wzorowy RIS.

Botella. Color negro opaco. Aroma potente. Licorado. Tabaco. Café. En boca es su fuerte. Tremenda. Muy cremosa, dulce de inicio, con toques a bombón de licor y se mantiene densaaa. Ese toque de amargor final le da una plenitud de paladar. Potente. Potemkin.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2017 Insanely thick beer. Pungently Russian - I mean smoked and salty / bitter as heck. Coffee, 99% cacao chocolate and maybe a touch of grapes on the tail end. Heavy bod + quickly dissipating dark brown head. Subjectively I could do with a bit more sweet for the tooth but for the uncompromising comrade a must.

Bottle 33. Liquide noir profond comme de lhuile de moteur. Une goutte tombée sur le meuble ma fait penser à de la cire à teinter ! Mousse brune à fines bulles retombant rapidement. Arômes de réglisse très marqués, café moka, chocolat, résine, fumé/tourbé en fin. Bouche : puissante, corsée, alcoolisée. Saveurs : café torréfié, malts rôtis, réglisse, sucres, fruits secs. Amertume moyenne à forte. Vraiment beaucoup de choses fortes dans cet excellent RIS mais qui na pas la finesse de certains autres de sa catégorie.

Bottle. Pours black with a beige head. Aromas of licorice, wood, chocolate and coffee. Flavours of licorice, ash, coffe, chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Full body, creamy and oily texture, excellent brew.

Bottle at Craft Islington thanks to MrTipple. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich, robust, roasted malt, chocolate, treacle, dark fruits and a touch of umami. The taste is pretty rich, oily, slick, charred wood, umami, dull smoke, coffee grounds, mild acidity, burnt toffee and cocoa. Finish is pretty drying and of charred wood. Full body and fine carbonation. Maybe errs towards too much umami, but pretty good anyhow. Robust.

Extremely dark beer, with a body of double cream and head that is hot cacao brown. To my huge surpise, the aroma is extremely hoppy, almost like putting your face in a back of hop pellets. On a 2nd, 3th, 4th sniff you get roasted malts and vanilla too. But still raw imperial black ipa like hops. Taste is dense, extremely bitter and rich, treacle, black olive, ginger, root licorice, clove... Very concentrated. Drinks like a syrup rather than a beer. Holy shit this is thick... certainly among the heaviest beers I ever head... and that’s after > 5000. So do I like it? Well, it is hard to tell really. 12%, heavy palate, extreme taste... It’s border case but a must try. Any numeric rating doesn’t do it justice. (33cl bottel from Etre Bière)
