Bottle. Dark red amber, no head. Vineous, wooden aroma. Oily, resinny mouthfeel, chewy. Orangepeel, pears, herbal notes, leather, berries. Hoppy citric and piney aftertaste. Rich, a little bit muddled though, but that is my impression on most new world style barleywines.
75 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Been keeping this for a year or so (for no purpose). Nice clear dark red color. Creamy light beige head with thin layer retaining. Aroma’s: toffee, red fruit, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet with a light bitter backbone, and dried fruits. Alcohol feel is quite strong, warming. Rather full bodied, but low carbonation. Finishes quite bitter. Pretty nice. Smurf2055 (1400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 9, 2014
Pours hazy golden, min head
Smell fruity spicy, sweet berry
Taste smooth light hoppy, bit of booze, sweet fruit, caramel earthy finish
Good, not quite what I expect from a barleywine though yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2013
On tap at Haand Festival. A very unclear on, dark amber in color and topped by small, dense, off-white head. The aroma is sweetish, fruity and lightly alcoholic, apricots and canned tropical fruits. It’s full-bodied and warming on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. The flavor has a lovely bitterness to deal with the sweetness, and grapefruit, apricot and pine cone notes. Bitter and warming finish. A tasteful and pleasant one, not looking to good, and perhaps a bit too warming, but nice anyway. 130525 OleR (4804) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 29, 2013
From keg @Haand Fest 13. Unclear brownish amber body. Low eggshell-colored head. Aroma of creamed caramel and dark dried fruits. Hint of alcohol. Medium full, sweet and oily. Refined caramel-sweetness, paired with fine fruit tones and a balancing bitterness. Pleansant mouth-warming ending. Very enjoyable. thewolf (12531) - Kolding, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2013

Copper hazy, offwhite head. Smells of booze, malts, oak and barrel. Medium sweet, quite boozy, a real stenk of alcohol, oaky, solid malt body. A nice surprise from a spanish brewery!
