Small bottle, thanx Rick! Poured hazy deep amber-reddish with a small delicious tan head. Resiny hop in the fruity aroma with fine toasty caramel, light vanilla. Oily body, smooth mouthfeel with caramel malt, sweet flavor, resiny and strong hop gives a fruity bitterness to the finish. Complex brew, veryvery delicious. Mouth is sweet, complex and fruity, orangey fruit, sweetish oaky tinges. Sweet with a bitter palate to balance it out. Another stunner from Nårke. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2007
(RBESG 2007, Glasgow. Bottle) Dark amber color, nice offwhite head. Nutty aroma, earthy, malty and nicely balanced with hops. Malty caramel flavor, woody notes and with a nice bitterness. Malty, nutty finish. MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2007
A Mes rate:
Bottle at RBESG. Another masterclass from Narke. Dark golden amber with a slight haze and a thin but lasting head. Almost barnyardy aroma with plenty of hops, straw and hay. Very slight fishy note pushes it down a little. Wonderful barley wine flavour with thick chewy caramel malt, glorious, almost tropical, hoppy notes and some really pleasing earthy and wooden texture underneath. Bitter then toffee then bitter then toffee in a rollercoaster ride of a finish. Superb balance, fanfunkingtastic body. Really only Narke can make beers that feel this good. I really, really, really want more of this. DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2007
Bottle thanks to Per, rbesg07. Alround this is an incredibly balanced ale for its strength, pale malts balanced with good citrusy grassy hops, i could probably drink pints of the stuff and find myself in a really bad way.
