Dec. ’16. On tap at Be.Re, Rome, with ippopotamo36. It poured a hazy brown body with medium sized head. Very smoked aroma, bacon, fireplace wood, peat. Nice. Very nice flavor as well, strong, smoked, yet creamy. Lightly sweet and sour, peat, smoked cheese and bacon, with very elegant cocoa and chocolate malt. Showed some secondary flavors as it opened up, with dried fruits and earthy, peppery spices. Medium bodied with long finish that followed the flavor pretty much to detail. Unclear, deep amber with red hue, medium frothy beige head. Aroma is of very strong peat, burnt plastic, some smoked meat. Taste is medium sweet malt, some caramel, very peaty, again burnt plastic, burnt notes, some smoked meat, medium phenolic smoky and roasty bitterness, dry finish, some acidity, strong peat aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bit creamy. Way too peated...

HUGE thanks omhper for bringing this - one of my favorite breweries! Shared with ogivlado and kajser. Murky ruby-brown body, small, lasting off white head. Huge smoked aroma, peaty, salty bacon, light plastic, fresh. Lovely bacon notes! Earthy, smokey taste, heavy flavor on a medium to light body, which kinda does balance them out, ashy, roasty, peaty, wow! Salty bacon continues on into the taste. Vague herbal/fruity touch underneath. Superb, just superb, unusual even for a smoked beer, drinkable, remarkably drinkable for both the taste and the style. A beautiful strong smoky aroma, a la Alaskan Smoked Porter. The wonderful aroma led way to a far too sweet body unfortunately. Forced to drink at a very slow rate. It is very smoky and peaty and just too sweet. Once is enough for me. I got my trades all mixed up but I think this one was courtesy of Nische. Thanks bud!
