On tap at Mikkeller. Dark reddish brown with a medium off white head. The aroma is smoke, light peat, bacon, caramel and some dark fruit. The flavour is heavy smoky, peat and faint caramel notes. Very smoky and peaty finish. For hardcore smoke fans.

Very smoked aroma. Not complex. Taste complex. Malt and smoke plays well and somewhat symphonic with hops and alcohol. Palate is interesting. Medium-full body, yet bubbly fresh. Nice, but cannot think of a suitable occasion to drink. Purchased on tap at mikkeller bar.

gyllenbock (9041) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 4, 2009
On tap at Bishops Arms, Vasagatan in Stockholm december 2008. Dark amber color with a firm lacing head. The beer really had an incredible aromaof smoke, Islay whiskey and salt. Not as much smoke in the taste as in the aroma. Licorice, malt and a some nuts. The beer felt balanced. Aftertaste was long and quite dry. A great smoked beer!

olsvammel (7209) - Örebro, SWEDEN - NOV 23, 2009
Draught at ÖBWF 2009. I’m not a huge fan of smoked beers but this one was very drinkable. It had allot of smoke flavour but it didn’t feel like it had been filtered through an old hunting cabin. Felt more like it had been poured along the side of some smoked ham. It poured a dark red liquid with a very small white foam. Heavy smell of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel, medium body, low bitterness. Taste of smoked ham, wood and salt.

Red-brown with thin beige head. Flavour of smoke, juniper, some alcohol, herbs and malt. Flavour of smoke, fire and sausage. Decent bitterness.

On tap @ Enken. Pours a clear dark red with a yellow head and lacings. Smells of smoked malts. Dry with some sweetness. Loads of smoked and peated malt aromas. Also quite leathery. Smoked whiskey. Medium to full body. Dry finish with more smoke aromas.

Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Draught at EBF 2008, Copenhagen. This is pretty hardcore stuff, with a very intense aroma of Vosene shampoo/kerosene/tarmac and then a very peaty smoke flavour really dominating the maltiness. I have the ABV down as 5.7%.
