Tap @ Borefts 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny tan head. The nose is of roasted grain, some chocolate syrup. The taste is honey, chocolate, light grassy hop and fruits. Just a hint of roasted coffee on the finish. Smooth and effortlessly drinkable stuff. Well-balanced. Great.

Keg @ Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Black with a large beige head, only some lacing. Red berries in the aroma, red wine and light toasted notes. Oily, silky smooth mouthfeel. Rich body and tasteful, licorice, coffee, ash, chocolate and red berries in a pleasant mix, also some grassy hoppy notes making it very fresh and not that heavy.

Kran på Närke Kulturbryggeri, kladdkakans dag. Svart vätska med fingertjockt, fylligt brunt skum. Kaffe, torkad frukt, kola och frisk fruktighet i doften. Halvstor kropp. Rätt söt i smaken med mycket torkad frukt och en del lakrtiks och kola. Choklad och kaffe i avslutningen. Fin efterbeska som håller sig i fin balans. Trelivg!

Tap at the Bishops Arms, Savoy, Malmo. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt with a little alcoholic liqourice. The flavour is strong bitter with a strong rich alcoholic malt fruit palate and a short bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. A superb beer indeed. Track it down if you can. Sweden is a good starting point :-)

Härligt krämig och samtidigt nästan lite läskande (måste ha druckigt något tungt precis innan). Tydliga kaffetoner och låg beska. SMÖF 2013

On tap @ Borefts 2012. It’s a good as black in the glass and it has a nice medium sized sidesticking brown bubbly top. On the nose there is a bit of licorice, chocolate and a fruity dark sweetness. Not really any clear roasted aromas, but it’s nice and gentle. Much more roasted in the taste! It’s average small prickling on the carbonation and it has a oily gliding mouthfeel. A bit sweet perhaps? Lot’s of sweet licorice root and some chocolate malts. Really liked this one! 30.09.2012

Found back tasting notes from Borets Festival 2012. Only putting them in now. This as one of the Mystery Beer of Närke. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, almost no head. NOSE: some chocolate, mocha, coffee. TASTE: very watery stout, somewhat bitter, not really my kind of thing...

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2014 29.09.2012, tap @ Borefts:
Grei.

JW pulls out a GROWLER of this pre hunahpus day. SAY WHAT? Yeah. WHAT THE HELL. Black pour, brown head. Flavors are big and bold, chocolate, coffee, ashy, charred wood, a bit dry on the finish. Roasty goodness. What a treat to try this!
