(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20120817) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramell and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours had malts, spruce, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had spruce, sweetness and bitterness. The beer was very sweet but the spruce sprout flavours balanced it quite well towards the end.

On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours clear, ruby-gold with a light, creamy head. Mild herbal nose, some bready and sugary malts, caramel. Big sweet flavor, faint tangy berries, light dry and sugary bread. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sticky sweet finish with caramel, orange citrus, bread, some herbal hops. A bit too sweet. Meh.

[email protected] Brown amber, hazy. Strangely herby spicy, a bit of funky notes. Cola- like flavours, pine needles. Earthy stuff. A lot of everything. For a spiced ale, ok. I like the slight funky things.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2016 Cloudy dark amber, with little head. Fresh foresty aroma. Clear, fresh piney taste, but not like pinesol. Thing but not watery. [Borefts 2013] [Borefts 2016: 5/4/8/5/16]

Grumbo (2951) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - MAY 25, 2017
Bottle in trade with Thomas, cheers! 7.0% abv. Pours a murky mid brown with a medium sized bubbly off-white head. Aroma of spruce, pine, malt, chocolate, with floral notes, lavender and herb. Quite high herbal sweetness, very light bitterness. Medium body, milky texture, soft carbonation. A rather curious brew.
