Bottle (250 ml) @ Akkurat. Black with reddish reflects and a small fully lasting beige head. Aroma is incredible... super complex without being too heavy, cognac is present for sure along rich dark chocolate, molasses, roasted malt and nice fruitiness. Taste is a little less spectacular, but still world-class with cognac (not overpowering), dark chocolate, roasted malt, molasses and a nice mild lingering fruity finish. Full bodied, but not too heavy. Moderate carbonation. Wow! This one is really impressive. More complex than most of the very high abv RIS while being less than 10 % abv. The balance is nearly perfect. Great RIS!

Bottle at Akkurat, shared with friends. Flat black pour. Aroma is so good. Right off the bat you get tons of deep but mellow cognac notes, nice rich dark chocolate, layers upon layers of roast grain and dark chocolate with gold cognac lacing. Taste is powerful but not aggressive, just slightly sweet (enough), nice cocoa, brandy, almost no alcohol. Palate is mouth coating and winey but never cloying. Terrific beer, finally a Stormakstporter that makes me believe the hype (the others have been (relatively) disappointing experiences).

Bottle at Akkurat, shared with friends. Pours black with no head. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, cognac, muscovado sugar and some honey notes. Taste is chocolate and vanilla upfront that gives way to cognac and muscovado sugar. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth with almost no carbonation. Very well balanced!

Oak, coffee, chocolate and raisins, soy, licorice. Good bitterness that fills the mouth a long time. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

2010 edt at a brewery tasting. Lovely notes of raisins, Brown, slightly burnt sugar, vinous, roastiness is now very soft, some light licorice, chocolate and noticable cognac, very refined and appealing. Black colour, small head that leves spiderleg-like residue on the glass. Big sweetness, medium/soft bite, vinous and very complex. Fullbodied, soft almost flat carbonation, long, complex, warming and slightly salty finish. In one word great!

Bottle in the Alvinne brewery, thanks Glen. Looking good for a kick off, black with tan head. Aroma turns it up to 11, roasted malts, chocolate, licorice and importantly awesome booze. Flavour is similar, cognac really comes through in the finish. Some wood. I’ve been treated here, thank you. It was a pleasure.

One of the very best beers I have ever had. An amazing beer with a sturdy and lovely bitter roasty backbone flavored by the oak casks it has been matured in. I had this at Akkurat in Stockholm in 2013 (made for this excellent bars 15th anniversary). It is good to be alive, when you get to experience luxury like this!

(#800) Bottle at Akkurat. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is cognac, oak, chocolate, vanilla, dark dried fruits. Taste is bitter chocolate, sweet dried fruits with vanilla, vinous. Meddium body, feels a bit thin for the style but this also makes it easy drinkable.

How: Bottle.
Where: Akkurat, Stockholm.
Appearance: Black colour with a small beige head.
Aroma: Cognac, alcohol, some vanilla.
Body: Full body oily mouthfeel, no carbonation.
Flavour: Alcohol, chocolate, cognac. A sweet aftertaste.
Comment: A good beer, but the alcohol is too evident and takes away a lot from both aroma and flavour.

Doftar staut tills Konjak och dov sprit doften tar helt över. Färgen är genom mörk med låg skum intill glaskanten. Smakar lent och fylligt men extremt spritigt. En öl för den som älskar Konjak i kombination med öl.
