One of the very best beers I have ever had. An amazing beer with a sturdy and lovely bitter roasty backbone flavored by the oak casks it has been matured in. I had this at Akkurat in Stockholm in 2013 (made for this excellent bars 15th anniversary). It is good to be alive, when you get to experience luxury like this! oafredheim (2) - NORWAY - MAY 27, 2017 does not count
Tidenes bedre ØL. Var heldig å fikk smake denne på ølfestival i Drammen i 2010 eller 2011

Black with a big dark brown dense dark brown head. If the scale for appearance went to 100, it’d still get full points. Aroma is quite sweet, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and cognac. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish. Smooth and oily. 090711 ultimatepoche (7) - Lille, FRANCE - FEB 3, 2012 does not count
Probably the best brew I’ve ever had. tatse is very complex; the aging in cognac barrels adds sweetness to a fairly bitter Imperial stout. The lenght of the taste is amazing and crushes everything you might have had before. Smell is amazing with a very wide variety of things, such as wood, alcohol, malts, hops ( bitter and aromactic ), macerated fruits.... alethol (133) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2013
Tap at Borefts 2012. Best beer I have ever drunk. Blows you away. Pitch black with small brownish head. Rich, creamy, complex and super smooth. Cognac, chocolate, oak, sweetness, roasted malts. Soft carbo. Fantastic.

On tap @ 2nd BBF. The aroma has coffee, chocolate, tobacco/ash, cognac. Black coloured beer with a lasting, beige head. The taste is truely wonderfull; A great match of cognac and oak combined with the superb Kaggen. Think this is the best special barrel aged Kaggen I had so far. yespr (44793) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - SEP 30, 2010
From tap. Pours dark brown with a small chocolate brown head. Aroma is roasted, fruity and slight winous. Fruity, dark malty, caramelish, wineous and slight smoked. Lingering fruity. Malty and caramelish with a slight wineous fruity into the far finish. Lovely. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUN 25, 2011

Tap at Borefts Beer Fest 2012. This was obviously my first beer I tried at the Fest. Literally walked in and asked where the Narke booth was so I could grab a glass of this black beauty. Pour was pitch black with small brown top and lacing. Aromas hit you immediately as you get your nose in the glass, notes of cognac, vintage wood, coffee, cocoa, bitter hops, roasted malts and other spiced grains. Taste was just as incredible with coffee, wood, vanilla, oak, caramel and crusty malts, One of the easiest going stouts I have ever tried in my life, so smooth and layered with an oily palate and smooth finish. World Class. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 27, 2010
Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2010 - and a lot of it !!!! Pitch black - nice brown head. High burned, smokey, ashes, cognac, light boozy, high wooden, licorice, fruity, very perfectly balanced. Fantastic.
